Chapter 32

She stopped and paused for a moment then took a deep breath then continued:

"She...wanted to make sure Melody had nothing and so told her parents that she ran away with some man and had a child with him. This caused mayhem in Melody's family and later her family disowned her and left her by herself."

I was shocked to hear that my mother was disowned but then I was somehow I felt closer with her.

"How does the Houston family come into this though Beth?" I asked

"Well, Antonio and Isabella wanted to clear things up as soon as possible and so told Charles to help his wife but Charles ignored them and let her suffer not knowing that the Houston family would make him pay..." She said quietly

"Pay?... How?" I exclaimed

"Well, a few months after your mother died the Houston family broke Pike estates and made them bankrupt." She paused and said:

"I think they wanted your mother out of the way so she wouldn't be affected then they went in and slowly broke your father," Beth said whilst looking in my eyes

"I...cant. This can't be real. How did not remember any of this?" I said shaking my head

"Dime you were sent away to live with your grandparents as soon as your father realised what had happened. He only took you back after he rebuilt his company." Beth said calmly.

"Look Dime I have no reason to hate you anymore so I want to help you. I'm going to Antonio Houston's house today at 4:00 with Nick for some business so you can come along if you want!" She said holding my hand

"Well Joey is going to drive me there at 4:00 so I guess we are all going together!" I said smiling

We carried on shopping for the whole day until it was 4:00. Then Nick pulled up in the carpark in front of us in a blue Ferrari and came out to greet us and said:

"Oh, Dime I didn't know you were here. Do you need a lift?" He said

"Oh no, I'm going to Mr Houston's house as well. I'm just waiting for Joey." I said smiling. I felt like it was extremely awkward. I mean I forgave them for what they did but then again...

The so-called love of my life married my sister. I did give up everything for him because I thought we were going to be together forever but I guess that wasn't true.

"Dime!" I heard a voice shout. It was Joey.

I turned around to see him pull up next to the blue Ferrari.  He stepped out of the red Lamborghini wearing a fancy tuxedo.

My face was red and at that moment Joey looked so handsome.

"Oh, so you are also going to Mr Houston's mansion?" Nick asked Joey

"Yes, we are. My father wanted to meet my wife." Joey said walking towards me

"Well the ladies should wear something much fancier than this, " a nick said whilst handing Beth a Channel bag.

Hey turned to me and handed me two bags one which was Gucci and the other Louis Vuitton.

"Uh Joey i-" before I could continue he looked at me as if to just do what he asked and I knew that me complaining would make him angry so Beth and I walked into one of the dressing rooms inside the mall.

Beth wore an elegant flowery patterned dress with a rose on her wrist. I walked out in a red dress that had a trail and was cut at knee height in the front.

Hey smiles and embraced me

"Oh, God. I just forgot that you are Antonio Houstons, son!" Nick shouted in an apologetic tone.

Joey chuckled and said "Mr Chase as we are family I don't want my title as the heir of the Houston company to change anything"

Both men laughter and Beth and I stood there wondering what was going on
