Chapter 39

My parents were there and my whole family.

I felt so happy. The happiness overwhelmed me and I didn't let go of Joey the whole time I was with him.

There was a massive party that was held for my birthday and lots of people were there.

"Hey Dime let talk for a sec," Nick said with Beth in his arms

I nodded and we went to the balcony

"Hey look I don't want to be hated by you and I know I'm probably saying this a bit late but can I have your forgiveness?" He said pleadingly

"What's your motive, Nick? Why hurt me in the first place?" I said in a harsh tone

"Look I really loved your sister but after finding out she was pregnant I kinda didn't believe it was my child so I went to you." He paused and wrapped his arms around Beth

"I just wanted to get my mind off Beth. I'm a real idiot and you shouldn't forgive me but it would be really awkward and weird if we didn't get along" Nick said in a calm tone

"Dime please do it for me, my kids and Joey"  Beth said holding my hand

I let out a deep regretting sigh and said:

"Fine I'll forgive you but just don't ever hurt Beth!" I said staring at him

He nodded and we all went back inside

As I walked to the drinks table  I felt the same stabbing pain again.

The pain was so unbearable that I fell to the floor clenching my stomach.

Joey immediately ran up to me and carried m in his arms then said:

"Quickly get the car ready! Dime its ok I'm getting you to the hospital"

I tried to tell him that it was only a cold but I was too weak and nothing came out of my mouth.

Everything went black and I fainted from all the pain.

As I opened my eyed Joey rushed to me and said :

"Dime thank God you are ok! They had to do a blood transfusion "

Joey's parents,my parents and Beth with Nick were all there smiling at me and telling me that they were glad I was ok.

Suddenly the nurse came in and said:

"Phew thank God we did that transfusion in time or the baby would have died!"

Joey smiled and said:

"Yeah, the baby would have-" he stopped then realised what he was saying

Then looked at me with a confused look on his face.

The doctor broke the silence by saying:

"Oh, I'm guessing you didn't know haha. Well, congratulations Mr and Mrs Houston are having a baby!"

Joey laughed then embraced me tightly and I could feel my shoulder getting a little damp

Was he crying?

We went home straight after that and Joey immediately gently picked me up then placed me on the couch and slept with his head on my belly.

"J-Joey do you want a baby?" I asked

He chucked and moved to my face and said:

" my silly little wife I want a family"

He stroked my cheek

I had to ask my self.

What if Mom was here? Would she be proud of me?
