(I was going to leave this until after chapter 24 but then I realized that a lot of the thing Sammy does in Chapter 24 will make 10x more sense if you know him and Charlotte's past... Well some of it up to a big event however not enough to know how Sammy lost his eye because that goes in to something about Charlotte that will be revealed in Chapter 24.)
Calling Sammy and Charlotte close would be an understatement, they were almost inseparable so much so that they always become considered if they didn't know where their second half was. They even slept in the same bed,even if it was a twin size bed.
They both were sweetheart, always considered for other more then themselves. And back then, Sammy was actually nice to people. He was as innocent and and care as he sister, that is until a certain incident.
Charlotte was on here way to her math tutor house as she wasn't understanding math as well as other and her parents couldn't find a way to teach Charlotte with her understanding so they found a well known tutor in their area and asked her to tutor Charlotte, and it has been helping with her grade. Sammy decided to come along so Charlotte could show him how to make a flower crown. He wanted to make one of Charlotte favorite flower, roses. More specifically pink roses.
She had just gotten done making a flower crown to show Sammy how to make one. "It takes a lot of practice but I'm sure you can do it Sammy!" Charlotte said. Almost on cue they arrived to the tutors' house.
"All right you two have fun." Their dad said as the twin got out of the car. They wave goodbye to they father as they walked up to the door of the tutors' house. However in the distance a man was watching to twins as they walked up to the tutors door and knocked on it. When the tutor opened it, the father gave his kids one last goodbye as he drove away.
When they got inside Sammy had one thing on his mind. "Miss can I go outside and play?" Which the tutor aloud. Sammy went to the back yard and started picking flowers and sticks to make a flower crown (which is funny because I have no idea how to make one). After about 15 minutes he finished the flower crown and excitedly ran to the house to give to Charlotte, he decided to make it a surprise for Charlotte so he wasn't going to bust the door open. He gently open the door, "SURPRISE! Charlotte look what I-" Sammy dropped the flower crown in to a pool of blood, his sister blood. He looked at her body and saw a stab wounded at her heart, her chest slowly rising and falling which meant she was still alive. Sammy couldn't comprehend what he was seeing as he was in shock. "Charlotte?" was the only thing he could say before he snapped out of shock and dialed 911 on the now dead tutors phone.
~back at the house before that event~
The tutor and Charlotte were working on a math problem when they heard the sound of glass breaking. The tutor looked up to see a man in his 30s in the house with a knife. Charlotte was natural scared, "Charlotte I need you to run outside to my neighbors and have then call the police!" The tutor said as she armed herself with a kitchen knife. The man throw his knife at the tutor as run towards her. the knife landed in her throat as he pulled it out as she fell to the ground and died. Charlotte started running to the back door but man tackled her just before she put her hand on the door handle. He stabbed her in the heart as deep as he could and twisted the blade to make a bigger hole, she tried to scream but the man covered her mouth as her vision started to become nothing but a black void.
(And there you have it. Now you know the big event that made Sammy into an edge lord asshole, well aside from him losing his eye. Also in Chapter 24 you're going to see their curses in action and a little hint as to what their curse is I leave you with this image. And props to who ever knows who this guy is)
