After the Lunar Revolution

Chapter 6: Wolf

          After I finally got Scarlet to say 'I love you', I thought she probably had a reason to come my room to my reason. "So Alph, is there a reason you came to my room or did you just miss me?"

          "Haha, no I actually had a reason. I just got a message from the travelers. Cress and Thorne are cutting their trip short for some reason and were wonder if they could stay here. I wanted to ask you before I said 'yes' but no matter what you say the answer is still yes."

          "Well than, Alph, way to take the decision out of the question. Still, if you say yes than I say yes too!"

          "Ya, I kinda figured you would say that, so I also already told them yes......."

          "Did you leave any decisions for me to make on my own or do you control my thoughts now too?" I stepped back to look at her in the eyes.

          "Well I if I could control all your thoughts than I would make you go work on that fence right now, but I am hinting for another kiss first." So that is what I gave her. Except it wasn't a simple kiss, it left both Scarlet and I breathless again.

           "What in the world was that for?"

           "You said you wanted a kiss, so that is what I gave you."

           "You kinda over achieved that a bit but I didn't care."

           "I will take that as a complement. Now I have to go work on the pastures, if you'll excuse me"

           "I don't want to but I will"

           "Thanks," giving her a simple peck on the cheek this time and started walking down the stairs.

          Scarlet started to follow me, but then she stopped short of the first step and leaned heavily against the wall. After a few seconds she stood up straight and started walking down the stairs.

           "Something wrong, Alph?" I paused nearing the bottom as I looked up at her, concerned.

           "Why would something be wrong? I was just thinking about what I had to do today."

           "Okay, if you say so," I started back down the stairs. The truth was I didn't believe a word she just said. Knowing Scarlet, she would just avoid any problems that had to do with her health until they were impossible to ignore. I knew that because I am the exact same way. It is one thing that we most definitely have that is the same. I put the thought of something being wrong with Scarlet out of my mind. I didn't want to think about that happening, it was too unbearable to even remotely think about  that happening.

           "So which animal pasture are we going to be working on today?" Scarlet asked as we walked out of the barn and toward the pasture I have been working on for a few days, "I was going to ask you if I could help but I decided to skip that part."

           "I was going to be working on the sheep pasture so ,apparently, that is what we are going to do today. Why aren't you going to work on extending the barn today?" We had reached the pasture and were standing at the unfinished end of it.

           "I was bored with it so I decided I was going to help you."

           "That's fine with me, it means less work, not that it even matters anyway." I bent down and picked up two hammers and a box of nails from my tool box. I handed the box of nails and the extra hammer to Scarlet. With my free hand, I picked up a fence post and said "Let's get to work."

          After about two hours of working hard, Scarlet paused and clearly leaned against the fence post, closing her eyes for a few seconds. I could have sworn I saw her sway a little bit but I could have just been me being crazy. Except Scarlet is way too strong for that. Still.......

           "You okay, Alph? You look a little tired."

           "I am fine, Pup" she bends down to pick up and take a drink of her ice-cold water. After a fairly long drink of it she sets it back down and gets back to work.

           "Okay," I glance up just in time to see Scarlet's eyes roll to the back of her head and she falls to the ground in a heap.

                                                                                                                                                                    

Sorry I haven't been updating very much or it takes me a long while to update.  Also, sorry for all of the chapters being really short. I am trying to choose what the climax of the book will be. But luckily I have narrowed it down to a few things......... not that I tell any of you :) ;) I hope people are enjoying this fanfic. And the chapters might get a bit longer now........
