"Willow, wake up." I heard someone whisper as they gently shook my arm. I slowly opened my eyes to see we were in the driveway. "We're home." I looked up at Jackson and immediately turned away.

I sat up and got out. I went to the trunk and opened it. I grabbed my two bags heading to the door.

"I could've grabbed them," Jackson said as he stood beside me grabbing his keys to the door.

"I can handle myself." He unlocked the door and opened it waiting for me to walk in first. "By the way," He looked at me. "this is not my home." With that, I walked into the house and looked around.

There was a staircase that was twisted, then when you walked in further there was a living room with a fireplace. When you turned to the right you saw the surprisingly beautiful kitchen. Damn, he must make a lot of money for his house to look this fancy.

"You want me to show you your room?" He asked. I nodded and followed him upstairs. We walked down a hallway and he stopped at the second door on the right. He opened the door. "I hope you like it."

I walked in to see a pretty good sized room that was spacious. When walking in you immediately saw the bed and shelves on the wall beside it. Beside the shelves, there was an open door that looked like it was a bathroom. On the wall when you walk in was a light blue wall with more shelves on the wall. Under the set of shelves was a black desk with a MacBook on it. I could see a set of windowed doors on the left of the bed. I walked in more to see it led out to a balcony.

"You didn't have to get me that," I said pointing at the laptop.

"I noticed you didn't have one, so I figured it would be a nice welcome home present." He said.

"Again, this isn't my home. My home is in New York where my family is." I said placing my bags on the bed.

"Well, you're going to need a computer for school." He sighed. "Speaking of school, I went out before I left to get you the supplies you need, including a backpack. Maybe next weekend you could go out for some new school clothes, since I don't really know your style, and don't people do that when they go to another school. So, here." He hands out fifty dollar bill.

"No, thanks. I have my own money."

"I've never seen a teenager deny money." He chuckles.

"Well, that just proves how much you don't know me because anyone who knows me knows that I don't take handouts," I said opening the first bag with my clothes in it.

"Oh, well, I guess I'm just going to have to get to know you." I stayed quiet as I started to take out my clothes and lay them in a pile. I looked around and finally saw a door. I walked up to it and opened it. It was a walk in closet right across from the balcony. "Also, since it's Sunday, you'll be starting school tomorrow."

"Okay," I said before I started to hang up clothes in the closet. When I was done I walked out of the closet to see Jackson looking around the room.

"What do you do?" I asked. This was a pretty nice house, so I knew he didn't have a regular minimum wage job.

"I'm an author."

"Oh," I said. "I've kind of always dreamed of becoming an author."

He looked up at me with a smile. "Really?" I nodded awkwardly. "So, you did get something from me."

"Unfortunately."

He sighed. "You have to give me some kind of chance, Willow. I'm trying. I know I wasn't there in the past, but I'm here now, and I think I should get some kind of credit for that."

"You're only here because you have to be. If you had the chance, you probably would've left me like you did when you found out I was going to be born."

"Willow, I'm sorry. I'm sorry I left, and I didn't man up to my responsibilities, and I'll regret that for the rest of my life, but I'm here now. I know I can't get back those years before, but I can for the future. I want to be your dad, but in order for me to do that, you have to meet me halfway."

I shook my head looking out the balcony. I immediately saw another balcony facing it that connected to the house next door. Our balconies were only about four feet away from each other.

I heard Jackson sigh before his footsteps headed to the bedroom door. "I'm not expecting you to trust me, hell, I wouldn't trust me, but just know I'm trying." He paused. "I'm going to order some pizza for dinner, what do you like?"

I stayed silent for a moment. He sighed again in defeat. When he was about to close the door I turned around. "Sausage and pepperoni are my favorites," I said.

He opened the door so he could look at me and gave me a small smile. "Mine, too." He said before closing the door all the way.

Maybe he's right, I should give him a chance. Yeah, he wasn't a great dad my whole life, but he's trying now and I guess that should count for something.

I grabbed my phone off the bed and opened the door to the balcony. I walked out and leaned on the railing that looked to the side of the backyard. I saw a pool and a garden. It was kind of pretty.

I looked at my phone and went to my messages. I looked for Ivy's name and opened it up.

Just got here. The house is pretty cool, and so is my room. Miss you! –Willow

About a minute later I felt my phone buzz. I looked down to see Ivy replied.

Lucky you... Miss you too goober. Meet any cute guys yet? –Ivy

I laughed and then replied.

Not yet –Willow

"Haven't seen you before." I jumped as I looked up to a guy leaning against the other balcony. He was tall, around six foot, brown hair, and green eyes. He looked to be around my age. "Where'd you come from?"

"New York," I said simply putting my phone in my pocket.

"Cool, I've always wanted to see the Big Apple."

I shook my head. "No, not New York City. I mean New York as in a small town in the country in the state of New York."

"Oh, that's cool, too." He said. "I'm Tyler, I live here." He holds out his hand.

I hesitated for a second before shaking his hand. "Willow, I just moved in."

"With Jackson?" I nodded. "You his niece or something?" He asked after he pulled his hand away.

"No, his daughter."

He looked shocked. "I didn't know he had a daughter."

"Yeah, it's a long story."

"Ahh."

"Yeah."

"So, how old are you?"

"Seventeen."

"Oh, so you're going to Woodridge High?"

"I guess, is there any other high school around here?"

"No."

"Oh, then yes." I slightly chuckled.

"Well, I guess I'll see you in school, Willow."

With that he went into his room and shut his door, closing the curtains.

I took out my phone and test Ivy.

I take that back...1st night here...1 cute guy –Willow
