Bae Jinyoung

Daniel led me to an abandoned church, we entered and I noticed the seatings weren't there. Just broken stuff in the main room, he was telling me his story. And how he became an infectee, he only became one because someone saved him. His family, wife and son had passed because of those same exact same infectees were finding him. For some reason now, I was their target, he had used me as a bait to kill them.

"What about you?" He asked.

"Long time ago, my family was also killed. We ran away but they managed to find us, I ended up being the last one to live." I answered remembering those memories.

With that, nothing else was said, he had led me back out and called it a night. I went home and went to Guan Lin's room where he would be at on his computer.

"Ah, hyung, you're back." He said once he heard me enter. "Did you bring me anything?" He asked.

"No, but a fact is something you would like to know." I said.

"Hm, a trip to Jeju Island doing a seminar, what kind of information is it?"

"Director Kang.. Kang Daniel.. He's an infectee." I told him.

I watched his face changed, he looked back at the computer screen then at me.

"How is that even possible, an infectee.. how can he have a human body temperature?" He asked.

"That what I was gonna find out but he seemed like he doesn't want to answer it."

"Hyung, whatever you do, you have to find out about it. You can even bribe him on if you have too at this point, c'mon, for now.. let's just rest."

I nodded to his statement then freshen up before going on the bed and turning on the functions. I laid there trying to sleep at least, but I couldn't. I sat back up and stared at the sun painting in front of me. The moment of Daehwi looking at me and everything that had happened to me, it would have always involve him. I let out a sigh in frustration and never slept that night ever because of that.

I've called Woojin over, I'm sitting out in the living room thinking about Jinyoung again. Image of him, getting a cut from the scalpel and it's wound healing itself. And to the time where I embarrassed myself for mistaking it the next day. And couple nights ago, when Donghyun had pulled the fire alarm, his wound was fine after all. I couldn't be sure, I heard Woojin came in shouting like a crazy kid at midnight. I stared out of space when he came over to me.

"Yah, Earth to Daehwi!" He said snapping his fingers at me. "Aish, what kind of friend calls a friend and just let them stay and watch you stare out?"

"Woojin hyung, it was nothing." I told him making him sit beside me.

"Daehwi-ah, is it about Bae Jinyoung again? Ever since he came into the hospital, you started to act differently." He stated.

"Different?" I said confusingly as he just nods.

"You've been staring out more than usual... do you by any chance.. have feelings for him....?" He asked slowly.

I grabbed a cushion and threw it at him, he moved quick and scooted over a bit.

"Go get some chocolate, it's by the bag."

"Heck yeah!" He said then got up and ran into the kitchen.

Woojin is no fun nor is helping too, I stayed in that one spot even after he left. I grabbed a blanket and curled myself in a ball thinking about Jinyoung. I would sleep even if I wanted to since I'm dead tired, my mind is seriously too occupied with him.

I ended up sleeping for about 30 minutes, I got prepared for work and did that before leaving the house. Jaehwan was finishing up his surgery by the time I went over to visit him through the viewing area. I went down to the lounge room where I first found Jinyoung there, I sat down on one of the chairs after getting myself a drink. After waiting a few, Jaehwan had appeared through the door and greeted me as he went to get himself a drink too.

"Are you okay? What's the reason for visiting me all of a sudden?" Jaehwan asked breaking the silence.

"I don't know if I'm becoming an idiot... well including the craziness.." I said softly.

"Well, Daehwi, you-" He was interrupted once the door opened.

"Ah, I'm sorry, but Chief Kim, you are needed to do another surgery." Director Kang said.

"Who's supposed to do it?" He asked.

"It's Bae Jinyoung's. He's having a stomach ache right now, a very bad one compared to last time." He explained.

"Mm, okay then." Jaehwan said getting up and leaving the room.

I looked up at Director Kang and he only politely nodded his head before shutting the door. Stomach ache.. Is he sick again? I finished up my drink and exit the lounge, I walked around the building not bumping him once. Aish, just thinking of him making me wonder why I'm even doing this in the first place. Now I don't know if I should look for him and ask if he's okay or just work here without any worries. As I walked through the front lobby, I found him standing there, I nodded slightly before walking away from him. Next thing I knew, my hand was held and his hands wrapping around my waist.

"Let go.. Don't do this when we're out in the public eye." I said calmly, well controlling my breathing from that action.

"Why are you suddenly avoiding me?" He asked. "There must be a reason then, come." He added before pulling away and walked ahead of me.

We walked back to the lounge again, luckily for us, Jaehwan wasn't done with his surgery just yet. We stood there in silence for a little bit till I decided to speak up.

"You're the one who dragged me here.. I think it's best for you to speak first."

"Then tell me, is there a reason why you're avoiding me?" He said.

"Yes, there is." I answered slowly.

"May I know that reason.?"

"Ever since you came into the hospital, I was getting crazier with my imagination because of you. Like you already know, no one believes me and my 'fantasy'. Now I just thinking that I've been a crazy maniac." I explained.

He suddenly grabbed my hand then moved it up towards his neck, I watched his lips curled up in a small smile. When my hand made contact with his neck, it was very cold.

"Is it cold? Is it like a corpse?" He asked. "Yes, this is my normal body temperature, sadly this is all you can know about me. I owned a rare disease that is unknown to the world, I wouldn't be surprised if you don't know this." He added.

He let go of my hand and let it fall back to my side, he walked passed but I stopped him.

"Wait.." I said as I reached over the bandage.

I pulled it off and revealed a clean skin, it was like that incident never happened.

"This whole time.. You were okay.." I said, he only smiled then grabbed the bandage off my hand.

He left me there in the lounge in confusion, a rare disease, something the world wouldn't know. I didn't think much about it as my eyes were getting teared up, I wiped them off then headed out of the lounge trying to forget everything that just happened.
