AU where Arthit had his wisdom tooth removed.
--
Arthit has been having difficulty chewing these past few days, Kongpob noticed. Whenever they have lunch or dinner his boyfriend would tend to chew only at the right side of his jaw which got him confused. And since Kongpob was highly observant of Arthit he noticed when his boyfriend winces at times during meals, or how Arthit refused to have his usual pink milk - which was highly unusual.
Kongpob started to get concerned when he noticed Arthit's already puffy cheeks got swollen, he'd notice his boyfriend have difficulty opening his mouth at times and he'd notice Arthit taking extra care of his jaws.
He decided to book an appointment with a dentist without his boyfriend's knowledge. Kongpob knew how Arthit would react if he asked firstly, so he took matters in his own hands.
"Where are we going?" Arthit quirked his brow at him. They were in town, Kongpob having lured his boyfriend out of his apartment with promise of food.
"What are we doing here?" asked Arthit, clearly displeased at where they're standing at.
"Kongpob!"
"You've been having jaw aches for a while now, P'Arthit," he explained. They stood in front of a building housing different specialty stores ranging from medical equipments to pharmacies, and a dental office.
Arthit must have already known what they were doing there.
"I'm worried," Kongpob frowned, "I don't like seeing you in pain."
"Well I don't like taking trips to the dentist," Arthit glared, "I don't want -
"Ow," his boyfriend winced in pain, cupping his jaws as he breathed heavily.
"Are you okay, P'?" he went to check on his boyfriend and Arthit just pouted at him.
Cute, even when angry.
"We'll just listen to what the doctor has to say," he said, rubbing Arthit's shoulders for comfort. "I've already booked a schedule. If it's nothing serious then we'd take care of it with medicine."
Arthit must have given up because his boyfriend heaved a deep sigh. He knew Kongpob would pester him if he didn't go to the appointment.
Kongpob hoped for nothing serious when they entered the dentist's office. There were a couple of people inside, so he went over to the receptionist to ask for their appointment. It was a good timing because Arthit was the next patient to consult.
They took a seat near the door, Arthit grabbing a magazine and putting it back again. His boyfriend seemed agitated, so Kongpob placed a reassuring hand on his boyfriend's thighs which Arthit then swiped away.
"I hate the dentist," Arthit muttered under his breath.
Just then, a mother came out of the consultation area placating her 6 year old son whose eyes were red from crying. Beside him, Arthit's eyes grew wide and gulped.
"Mr. Rojnapat?"
They stood up from where they sat and was escorted by the nurse to the doctor's office. Kongpob wanted to hold his boyfriend's hand but he knew Arthit would glare and hiss at him so he decided otherwise.
The doctor seemed kind, he thought. She was in her mid 40's with wrinkled eyes from smiling which made Kongpob feel comfortable. It wasn't the case with Arthit when his boyfriend saw 'the chair' immediately stiffening up which prompted him to grab Kongpob's hand.
He squeezed his boyfriend's hand as the doctor instructed Arthit to lie down the chair. It took a lot of whispering comforting words in Arthit's ear to have his boyfriend on that chair and Kongpob took it as a win.
