Soulmate AU/AR
--
Legend has it that Aphrodite once witnessed a love so great the goddess herself shed a tear. And that tear formed the first Soulmark on the lovers’ skins; a translucent band on their fingers that glows gold under the sunlight.
And so, the first Soulmates were celebrated by the Gods.
Zeus was angered by this. Having feared the power of a bonded soul, he tried to wipe the Marks away, but even the God of Olympus himself could not penetrate a love profound.
And so, he shuffled the human race, scattering them all over the world making it harder for the Soulmates to find one another.
But Zeus’ efforts would prove to fail him in the next centuries until the present, for the goddess of love made sure that the one would always find the other as she will continue to shed tears for true love.
Arthit thinks it’s all bullshit told by the romantics and the poets. He doesn’t like the idea that there’s someone out there already predetermined to spend the rest of his life with. But seeing all the couples who had found their significant others, and just by watching his own parents, Arthit can’t help but also think that the Gods or whoever came up with this shit knows what they were doing.
The universe is a mystery after all; no one actually knows shit.
He stares at his ring finger with resentment. According to the legends, once you meet your Soulmate, a translucent ring would appear on your finger and it would glow like a hundred suns.
Well, Arthit’s had his ring from the better part of the beginning of his junior year.
The only problem is . . . he doesn’t know who his Soulmate was.
He had only noticed the ring present on his finger when Knott had pointed it out one afternoon as they were being trained to be the next hazers.
Arthit had not liked the idea of this whole Soulmate pairing shit, but it would be nice to know who triggered it.

When he was in high school, Arthit had wanted Namtarn. He had waited eagerly for his 18th birthday to confirm if he and Namtarn were Soulmates.
But his empty ring finger left Arthit downhearted and even more morose when he learned that Namtarn and his other friend, Jay were Soulmates.
He had reasoned with logic then, that the universe had better plans for him. But Arthit couldn’t quite hide his disappointment and resentment from the lack of say and choice he – everyone, had.
Everyone can fall in love, but it seemed that not every love blooms.
So, Arthit had strayed away from relationship – or just the idea of it.
But now there’s this freshman proclaiming to the whole audience that he would make Arthit his wife.

Kongpob Suthiluck seemed sharp and intelligent, which are a dangerous combination for revolting.
The said junior is quite the headache to Arthit with Kongpob’s constant barrage of questions and disagreements with the SOTUS system that eventually leads to Arthit ordering punishment for the rest of the batch.
Ever since Kongpob had announced to the whole batch that he would make Arthit his wife, his friends had been unforgiving with their teasing.
