In as much as I wanted to adapt Tolkien's world about elves and such, I will not do that here in Captive because... hello! He is tolkien and in no way I could create a vivid world of middle earth the way he did it.
This story is inspired from several Philippine stories, myths, legends and tv series were they have their own interpretations and descriptions of mythical beings --some of which embodies Filipino concepts.
So if I'll deviate from the original idea of what elves, faeries and other beings are and their usual customs from what is widely known, that is because I am trying to incorporate some of the Filipinos' beliefs about them and at the same time create my own version of them.
Of course, I will not digress from how an elf or vampire should look like or the courts they belong and certain traditions or their usual dwellings. You will not find any sparkly, vegetarian vampire here. Sorry to disappoint you.
So why am I saying all of these? I don't know. I just want to chat with you and steal your time. Hahaha. Sorry! :)
