I rush home and get everything ready for the sleepover. I then send a group message,

K- Okay I'm gonna put my phone down now and get everything ready! See you in 2 hours!!👋

*Time flash to 6pm*

Im just putting my sleeping bag down on the floor when the door knocks, I race downstairs before anyone else can open it cause I haven't told them.

"Hey guys, come on in!" I say gesturing them through the door then closing it.

I hear footsteps coming down. It's the two of them. I gulp.

"Kat, what's wrong?" Finnick whispers to me.

"Urm well I kinda haven't told them.." I whisper back still looking at the stairs.

They come down and I gulp again. They see the 9 people behind me and 5 of them are boys. Oh god help me!

"Who are these?!" My mother snaps at me.

"My friends! We're having a sleepover on my floor" I say snapping back.

"Hey Mrs Everdeen!" I hear Gale say as he comes by me.

"It's Mrs Havensbee actually" she snaps.

"Mother really? You don't have to snap at Gale!" I say.

"He left you!" She shouts.

"He had no choice!" I snap back.

"Katniss, don't shout at your mother like that!" Plutarch says to me.

"Oh shut up Plutarch! She's shouting at me and she knows damn well how I react!" I snap at him.

"You still don't need to snap at her!"

"You don't even know what she put me and Prim through! You'd be shocked if you ever knew!" I shout.

"Don't shout at Plutarch like that! He's your father! And you tell him and I'll do something you'll cry and cry over and I wouldn't care!" She laughs saying the last bit.

"He is NOT my father!" I snap at my mother right in her face gesturing to Plutarch. "And whatever you just threatened me with you'll pay for!" I poke her chest.

"He is your father!" She snaps pushing me back.

"Is not! My father died when I was 8! And you" I say walking up to her again right in her face poking her chest again "Went and replaced him for a rich dude! If dad was here right now I don't even know what he'd do! He probably doesn't even think you as the same woman he married after what you put me and Prim through! He was probably disgusted with you!" I snap.

"He is going to be your father for the rest of your life you deal with it! Prim accepted him!"

"Prim was only 4! She barely knew dad! I knew him for 8 years! We would spend the day together hunting for meat because we couldn't afford to buy it! Yes I was sad when dad died but if I had given up and and sobbed then none of us would be here now! So take your time to think what I did for our family then.."

"Stop over reacting!" She snaps at me.

"You've changed since dad died, and I, neither Prim likes it! You started beating me for no reason! I went through think and thin for our family to keep us alive and you repay me by beating me and locking me in the basement for 4 days with no food or water when I was 11!" I snap. She looks shocked. "Oh I'm sorry, did I tell everyone here your dirty little secret?" I snort with laughter.

She did the most shocking thing ever. She dragged me to the kitchen and loked the door before beating me with a roling pin. I scream with pain.

Peeta's POV

I can't believe Katniss' mother did that to her whan she was 11! I was wrong though. Her mother pulled Katniss to the kitchen my her hair and locked the door. I then hear Katniss scream with pain over and over again..

What do I do?
