————I packed some of Sapphire's tiny onesies in her overnight bag, as well as bottles and her favorite pacifiers. It would suck being away from Sapphire for a while weekend, but Alec and I would get our much needed alone time, as demonstrated by the stunt he pulled at lunch.
"Babygirl?" I heard Alec call, and my heart warmed. I loved when he called me babygirl, princess, baby. His petnames for me were so cute.
"Yes, Love?" I called back, zipping up Sapphire's overnight bag and patting it gently.
"Did you finish Sapph- yes you did." He grinned, wrapping his arms around me and turning me around to face him. "Sapphire is down for the count again, fast asleep in her nursery. It's only 4 PM right now, so I'm thinking that I'll let her sleep for another hour and a half if she will, and then we'll meet your brothers at Segal's?"
I smiled up at him, nodding my head. I leaned up to kiss him gently, caressing his face. I pulled away, my hand remaining on his face. "This still feels like a dream." I confessed, putting my face in his chest.
A deep chuckle came from his chest, vibrating my head and making me smile. "No dream here, my angel. I'm not going anywhere."
I believed him. Even after Andrew promised that, and I never thought I'd be able to trust anyone again, I believed when Alec said he wasn't going anywhere.
"Can we go see Andrew tonight? It's been a while." I asked quietly.
Alec lifted my chin up to look at him, his eyes were soft as they looked into mine. "Of course we can, my love. We can go before we drop Sapphire off."
I kissed him tenderly, my eyes remaining closed for a few seconds after the kiss ended. "Thank you."
"I would do anything for you, Evangeline. No questions asked." He admitted, his finger wiping away a tear I didn't even know I had let loose.
"Come on babygirl, we have to go meet your brothers." He said after a few minutes of just holding each other. I nodded quickly, grabbing Sapphire's bag as he went to get our angel.

Meeting my brothers was not something I was looking forward to. The Edwards boys were a headache waiting to happen, and I definitely didn't care to see Hudson.
I grabbed Sapphire out of her car seat and held her to me, before walking briskly to the entrance of Segal's. I immediately heard my brothers' loud voices and held Sapphire closer to me as we approached the table.
Adrian was the first to notice me. "Eva? What's in your arms?"
I looked at him. "Are you stupid? She's a baby."
"I'm aware what a baby is. The real question was why you have a baby."
I looked at Alec and nodded my head.
This seemed to piss Adrian off. "Why the hell are you looking at Alec? Have you been with him this whole time? What the fuck, man?" The last question was geared toward Alec, and I grabbed his hand for support.
