My name is Ash. The name says it all. Ash grey hair, ash grey eyes, and a skin tone that could rival a corpse. I am about six foot six and I'm sixteen and I live alone with my sister Sky. Once again the name says it all. Sky blue eyes, sky blue hair, and lightly tanned skin. She was born mute so she has had to find find other ways to communicate. She is about five foot six and she is younger than me by exactly two seconds. Yes we're twins now shut up so I can finish.

In our world some people are born with magic and some are born without. Some people prefer a normal life and don't want to use magic but it's a shame that they don't have a choice if they have magic in their blood. Especially since the government wants to keep all magicians on a leash and keep them under their boot heels.

My parents were murdered by the government for this very reason. They wanted to let Sky and I live normal lives but because they were two of the most powerful magicians out there the government definitely wanted us on tight leashes. My parents fought off the government for as long as they could but even though they were two of the most powerful magicians they were not invincible.

In there final moments my parents told me to take Sky and run as fast as I could and to not look back. They told me they would be right behind us. I was only five at the time but I understood. I picked up Sky and ran as fast as I could away. Sky cried and tried to run back for Mom and Dad but I just couldn't let her. After about another minute or so of running our house exploded in an inferno of fire.

I turned back and dropped to my knees. I remember their faces just before I ran away. Smiling and crying at the same time. I broke down and started to cry and so did Sky. When I heard someone yell, "Find the children now," I knew that we had to run.

I with Sky into a cave at the side of the mountain hoping that they wouldn't find us. How wrong I was. They found us easily. Two men with guns and two magicians yelled to another group, "They're over here."

I remember this part very clear as day. A man with jet black hair, blue eyes, and lightly tanned skin wearing a coal black robe approached us and I moved in front of Sky to protect her with my life. I even growled at the man like a savage animal.

The man just put his hand up and said, "Calm now little one. I have come to help you and your sister. Your parents were doing bad things and we had to get you away from them before they hurt you and your sister. We feared that we did not get to you two in time but I am glad that we found you two safe and sound. Will you please come with me little one?"

I was five but I knew that that man was lying through his teeth. I growled again and said, "Your lying."

The man put on a confused face and asked, "What do you mean little one? I am telling you the truth."

I turned to Sky and when our eyes met I knew she wanted me to be calm but I had another idea. I turned towards the man and punched him square in the face. He was more shocked than hurt and he even started laughing.

He nodded and said to me, "I know that you must be angry with me for killing your parents but you must trust me. I am here to help you."

I was about to punch him again but Sky grabbed my arm and shook her head no. I looked into her eyes and knew that I should listen to her. I looked at the man and said, "Sky and I stay together when we go with you."

The man nodded and said,"Of course. Now please follow me."

So from that point forward Sky and I wanted to become the best magicians so that we could burn the government and anyone else who sided with them to the ground. Anyways, now you know about our past.

Now this is the point in which I say if you don't like what I'm saying then go die in a hole but for those of you sticking around be ready for all the stuff that Sky and I faced. Ouch, okay Sky geez. Sky would like to say that if you have no problem with lots of gore then stick around.
