Some people looked nervous while other just dove strait in. I held back for a second to watch how Sky did it. Red didn't seem to be having much luck with his first try. Because Sky couldn't talk one of the teachers told her to simply picture the words in her head and that would work. She was apparently not the first mute magician.

She stood still with her eyes closed for a moment and then opened her eyes when her circle glowed a deep blue color. There was a bright light then when the light was gone there was a tiger, not a real flesh and blood tiger but a ghost tiger, standing in the center of the circle. It looked at Sky curiously then growled at her.

Sky stood there unflinching as the ghost tiger growled. I thought that it was going to pounce on her but instead it stopped growling and sat down. I was confused and when I looked at Sky she was smiling. She ran up to the ghost tiger and hugged it. I thought she would fall through it but nope. Apparently ghosts can make themselves tangible. Who knew?

The tiger seemed to purr and put its paw on Sky's hand then a mark that looked like a blue ghost tiger appeared on her hand. When Sky looked at me she simply smiled and gave me a thumbs up. I was clueless as to what happened. As a matter of fact the first thought that crossed my mind was, "What the ever living fuck?!"

I was going to ask her later what happened but for the moment I was clueless, confused, and Red was still finding one. I swear I heard him muttering but anyways, I was lost so I decided to go on instinct.

I breathed in deeply then said, "Abyss awaken."

My circle began to glow black then erupted in a pillar of darkness. People backed away from it but when it settled down there was a surprise left in the pillar's wake. Now the first thing that came through my mind was, "Holy shit."

The next thing that crossed my mind was, "That is a big ass dragon."

Yes you are seeing this right. I summoned a fucking dragon and my god it was badass. The dragon was huge. It had scales that were black as a starless moonless night. The claws were black as could be. The horns were a lighter but still black color. The wings were almost grey but still dark. The teeth were shining white. The eyes were black with purple irises and slitted pupils. The dragon was gargantuan compared to me.

He looked around then looked at me. He breathed in then roared so loud that everyone had to cover their ears except me. Something about his roar was comforting. Like a good friend calling out to me. I didn't know why but I felt some kind of kinship with this mighty beast. When he stopped roaring he stared at me for a good minute.

Everyone was staring at the dragon I had just summoned. Even Red stopped moving and gapped at it. The dragon finally broke the silence by saying, "What is your name human?"

I should have been trembleing but I didn't have an ounce of fear in me. I breathed in then yelled, hey I didn't know if he could hear me considering he was a giant, "My name is Ash. What is your name?"

The dragon seemed a bit annoyed when he said, "I can hear you just fine Ash. You do not have to yell. My name is what I bring to all my foes. I am what is awaiting all beings. I am Death."

I smiled and nodded as I said, "It is nice to meet you Death. I have a question for you."

He looked at me with what looked like a curious expression and said, "What is it?"

I took a deep breath, prepared myself, and said, "I am in need of a familiar. I wish for you to become my familiar. Will you become my familiar?"

He chuckled as he said, "It would be interesting to see the reactions of all these humans when they must face me. Very well Ash. I will accept your invitation to become your familiar. Would you like to accept my mark?"

I smiled as I heard him say that. "I will accept your mark Death."

He nodded and started to glow black. At the same time I felt my chest begin to burn as if someone was pressing a white hot iron to my chest. I crumpled to the ground and began to yell from the pain. When people came close Death roared at them and they backed away.

Death's body began to shrink and turn into a black smoke. When the pain had passed and the black fog was gone there was a mark of a black dragon on my chest and instead of a dragon there was a human standing there. He had black hair, black eyes with purple irises and slitted pupils, and pale white skin. When I looked at him I knew that it was Death.
