Sky of Ashes

Chapter 9

 I pulled up and parked just aas this other bright red sports car parked right next to me. Guess who was in it. Whoever you are thinking of is wrong. It was the little shit head I almost killed the other day. When I saw him I got a different vibe from him than last time. He seemed to be kinder and not as much of an asshole as before.

 I stood next to my motorcycle with Sky behind me and waited for him to get out of his car. When he got out I saw that all his injuries were healed. I had my hands in my pockets to hide my clenched fists that were ready for a fight incase things turned south.

 When he was fully out of the car we stared at each other for a good minute until he broke the silence by looking down in guilt and saying, "I'm sorry for what I did to your sister the other day. I hope that you can forgive me."

 I kept my voice leveled and said, "She is the one you need to apologize to. If she forgives you then I forgive you. Until then you are just another threat."

 He sighed then said to Sky, "I am sorry for what I did to you the other day. Can you forgive me?"

 She looked at him then me then back to him. She wrote in her note pad and showed it to him. It said, "I forgive you. My name is Sky. What's your name?"

 The guy looked relieved and said, "My name is Red. Nice to meet you. What's your name dude?"

 I was a bit surprised that Sky forgave him but decided not to question and said, "My name is Ash and we will be good friends so long as you don't dis me or my sister."

 Red nodded and smiled and said, "Alright then. Nice to meet you Ash."

 "Nice to meet you too and could you answer a quick question?"

 "Sure."

 "How did you heal your injuries so quickly?"

 "Oh yeah my mother is a powerful healer so something like that was easy to fix for her."

 Just then the principal came on the announcer and said, "All new students report to the courtyard for your familiar summoning. Thank you."

 I looked at Red and Sky and said, "Well I'm looking forward to meeting my new partner so let's go."

 Red smiled and said, "Hell fucking yeah."

 Sky smiled and ran ahead of Red and I. We looked at each other and laughed as we ran after her and even though everything seemed so peaceful I had a very bad feeling about what was coming.
