Sky of Ashes

Chapter 7

 Shane called out to us when he saw us. "Hey you two come on. We're going home."

 I looked at sky and had a confused look on my face but in reality I was scared that if he knew then he would a) kill me or b) use me to gain more power. He did kill my parents and I still wanted to kill him but until I was stronger I was helpless.

 I looked at him and said, ''Why are you here Shane?"

 He smiled and said, "Two reasons. The first was that I wanted to see how you two did on your first day of school and the second is that a certain man was seen around here and I am supposed to kill him on sight."

 I got the feeling I knew who he was talking about but still I asked, "What man?"

 He just said, "He was once an old friend but he turned on us. He murdered ten of my men and is on the run. He has blue eyes and grey hair. If you see him please tell me."

 I nodded and said, "Alright."

 Sky tugged at my shirt and showed me her note pad that said, "Are we going to tell him?"

 I shook my head and smiled. She then stopped so I assumed she got the message. I had absolutely no intention on helping Shane and I intend to find this guy and ask him a few questions.

 Shane nodded and said, "Okay then let's go."

 I nodded and hopped on my motorcycle with Sky on the back of the motorcycle. I drove home as fast as I could and Shane went to his own place.

 When we got home Sky and I went to the living room so we could just chillax until tomorrow. I was not in the mood to read just yet so I hid them in the secret vault that I installed without anyone but Sky knowing. I hoped that Shane wouldn't find out I was a Shifter until it was to late.

 Sky and I spent the rest of the day watching t.v. or playing videogames. When it was time for me to pass out Sky and I decided to go to bed. After Sky had gone to her room I locked all the doors and turned off all the lights and went to my room to sleep.

 Just as I was about to fall asleep I heard something that made me shoot up out of my bed. A voice that sounded female seemed to whisper in my ear, "We will be reunited after so long."

 I looked around but no one was in my room. Just to make sure I went to Sky's room to check up on her. I opened the door and when I saw that she was fine I closed her door quietly and went back to my room. When I entered my room I got the distinct feeling that I was being watched so I slowly went over and turned on my lights but nothing was in there.

 I shook my head and just said to myself, "You're being paranoid you moron."

 I turned off my light and got in my bed. I laid my head down and fell asleep into a world that I never knew my nightmares could create.
