Sky of Ashes

Chapter 12

 I tried to stand up but Death was by my side and putting my arm over his shoulder. I looked at him and asked, "Why did you help me?"

 He looked at me with a smirk and said, "My mark is a powerful one and usually one would perish if they took the mark but you survived. It is a surprise that you are even still awake. You will be in pain for at least a full day. You are my master and will be until the day you perish. I will help you in anyway I can. Now be quiet."

 I smiled at him and shut up. Sky and Red ran over to me to check on me but because Death said I shouldn't talk I let him do the talking.

 "He will be fine. Now get out of my way so I can get him proper care."

 Red tried to say something but I put up my hand and he understood and so did Sky. Death took me all the way to the hospital part of the school and laid me down on a bed as a doctor came in and said, "You seem to be in quite the jam son. You should be careful. Here, take these pain killers and get some rest."

 He handed me two pills but Death took them and said, "He is to weak to move. I will give them to him."

 The doctor looked at death for a moment then said, "Who are you exactly?"

 Death flashed his razor sharp teeth and the doctor said, "Er...never mind. I will leave you here then."

 As the doctor closed the door Death got me a cup of water then poured some into my mouth then put the pain killers in my mouth and said, "Swallow."

 I did then began to rest. Death seemed to be wanting to say something but couldn't seem to decide if he should or not. After a few seconds of debating with himself he said, "Master you must go to sleep now."

 Before I could respond he tapped my head with his pointer finger then I was out like a light. What happened while I was out Death told me about. Red and Sky came in to check on me but Death quickly told them that I was just resting and then kicked them out so that I could sleep peacefully. When they were gone Death sat down in a chair and kept watch over me until I woke up and when I woke up I wished I hadn't.
