Promise

// "we used to talk for hours... now look at us"//

its been a year now. Kayla was broken but never could show it. She was sitting alone in her apartment with her black Labrador named London watching tv. she got London about a week after tom left. She was lonely with all her friends going out without her and needed something in her life. When Kayla switched channels a commercial for the captain America civil war came up. She got excited and watched the commercial. Then tom came up on the screen. her heart dropped as she watched tom do his scene. "he made it" she whispered. A tear fell down her face. she hasn't seen toms face since the airport.  Kayla's friends hated seeing her like this, tom was such a huge part of her life, Tom was Kayla's, first love. 

*flashback*

"come on Kayla, hurry up" tom yelled down to Kayla as she climbed the tree.

"tom this is really high up" she looked down

"come on you are almost here" Kayla finally got up the tree and looked at the view.

"whoa.." her breath was taken away " it's beautiful up here" 

"n-not as beautiful as you" Kayla looked at the blushing tom,

"shut up Thomas," she said lightly punching his arm. they sat up in the tree in a peaceful silence

"Kayla"

"yes Tommy" 

"one-day I'm gonna be on the big screen, I'm gonna travel the world filming movies and going on tour. And I'm gonna take you with me, every step of the way" he said as he looked out into the distance "just you and me forever, friends till death do we part" Kayla smiled at toms dream

"promise" she whispered but loud enough to hear 

"promise" he said looking into her eyes"

*end of flashback*

Tears were streaming down her face as she replayed that moment in her mind. She was ripped out of her thoughts when she heard a knock at the door. She got up and whipped the tears off her face. She opened the door and saw her friend Emilie standing there with a bottle of wine. 

" hey" emilie said, " thought you might need this" and she was right today was the same day tom left a year ago.

"thank you" Kayla said as she moved to the side to let her in. Kayla and Emilie sat and talked.

"so its been a year" Kayla was taken back by her words, Emilie could tell, "omg kayla no I'm sorry, I wasn't thinking" at this point Kayla was crying

"n-no its ok" she said between sobs. Emilie was sick of seeing her best friend like this.

" you know what Kayla" she said while jumping up " you are 20 years old, you should be having fun instead of staying at home crying"  Kayla whipped her tears away as she listened to her speech, " its been a year, lets stop wasting tears on that b*tch named tom and go have some fun!" Kayla laughed at her friend, now they both were standing

"thank you" Kayla whispered as she hugged her friend

"ok enough of this lets go CLUBING!"
