A Sweet Memory (completed)

Kayla woke up forgetting she was at her old house. She panicked for a second and then realized where she was. Kayla rubbed her eyes and grabbed her phone, she had three texts from Emilie.

*texts*

E: hey Kayla, Sam and I are gonna go to the park

E:  I thought you could meet up with us around 3

E: oh and bring London

*end of texts*

Kayla forgot for a minute that Sam and Emilie were together. She texted her back saying that she would, then she looked at the time, it was 2:30 pm

"crap" she whispered to herself, "I need to get ready" She practically jumped out of her bed and threw on a pair of leggings and a black hoodie. She walked downstairs and saw her mom and dad in the living room

" good morning love" he mom smiled

" hey mom, I was wondering if I could stay here for a little bit, I just don't want to be at my apartment at  the moment", her mom gave her a warm smile

" of course darling"

"  Oh I was also wondering if I can barrow the truck for today, I need to go back to my apartment, get London, and pick up a few things, oh and I'm gonna meet up with Em and Sam at the park"

" yeah go ahead"

"thanks mom" she smiled grabbed the keys to the truck and headed off to her apartment. She picked up some clothes and other things, then took London and headed to the park. She started towards Emilie.

" hey Em

" Kayla! how you doing" she gave her a hug

"I'm doing okay" Kayla gave her a weak smile, she then heard another dog start to run towards her, " Tessa!" she said with a excited tone. Tessa ran up to Kayla and practically tackled her, wagging her tail and kissing her face, then a familiar face came into view

" hey Kay" the freckled boy said with a smile

" Well if it isn't Sam Holland" Kayla laughed and got up, " god I haven't seen you in forever, she gave him a hug.

" I know" he hugged back. He then looked down at the black lab , " and who might this be" he squatted down

"oh yeah, this is London. I got her about a year ago"

" Kayla you should let her off the leash so she can play with Tess" Emilie said

"ok" Kayla took London off the leash " go play Lolo" she smiled as the dogs started to play in the field, "So Sam how have you been"

"oh well I've been pretty good, not much has happened since the last time I saw you, well since tom-" Emilie slap his arm and gave him a death glare, " o-oh I'm sorry, I forgot"

Kayla gave him a sad smile, " Sam its fine, how has tom been anyways" Emilie's eyes went wide as she looked at her friend. 

" Oh, well he got the roll as Spider-Man, and his career has really gotten launched. But is we are being completely honest after the whole thing he's been kind of off" Emilie slapped his arm again but harder, " ow, will you quit it" he rubbed his arm where she hit him.

Kayla got confused, " Sam what do you mean different?"

" Well you remember how tom was, always so talkative and smiling all the time. Now he just seems..." he paused " dull" Sam winced ready for Emilie to hit him again but she didn't, she was to worried by her friends facial expression. it was a mix of pain, sadness.

" was it because of me...?" there was a pause

" Maybe, he never talked about it, actually he never even told us why-" he saw Kayla's eyes start to tear up, " so um do you guys want to go get a cup of coffee or something" Kayla whipped away the tears that started to form.

" yeah that sounds nice"

The dropped the dogs at there houses and drove to a near by coffee shop. When they got there Sam and Em went to order and Kayla went to go find a seat. Kayla stated to see a crowd form around the entrance of the shop, she finally saw who was in the middle of it, " tom" she whispered. He looked desperate for a way out of the ground. Kayla may have been mad at him but wasn't the person to just do nothing. She got up and walked to the crowd. It took a minuet to push through all the people but she finally made it to the center.

When Tom saw kayas face he was a little shocked, " Kayla.."

"Tom not the time" she grabbed his arm and made their way through the crowd quickly. She pulled him to her booth

"put your hood up and look down" she whispered.  They put there hoods up.

" Kayla why are you helping me?" he questioned

" Because I'm not the person to just do nothing" she paused " I saw your face, it was the same face you had when you broke your moms vase" she smirked " that was your help me face"

Tom smiled and looked up at Kayla , "thanks" Kayla smiled back but then it quickly faded when she realized what happen just last night

"tom you should probably leave" she got all serious

"o-oh, um ok" he stood up, " um thanks again" he then walked away. Just then Sam and Emilie walked over

" who was that" Emilie smirked, the obviously didn't see the face.

" oh um no one, the just asked for my opinion on something" Sam and Em looked at each other, "um ok"  They sat down and Sam put is arm around Emilie as the sipped there coffees.

" you guys are so cute" Kayla gave them a goofy grin, Emilie started blushing, " I remember when we all would hang out and Sam would be all over you trying to impress or get your attention" they all laughed

" Yeah those were some good times" Sam smiled.

"yeah", the sat and chat for a while until they decide to head home. Since Sam and Kayla were neighbors they dropped off Em first then the drove back to there housed in a comfortable silence. The finally got back to their houses.

"well this is me" Kayla said with humor , they laughed and got out of the car, " she you later Sam" Sam waved and entered his house.

Kayla was about to walk into her house when she decide tp visit one more place. A place she hasn't visited since she was 18 (she's now 21. It was about a 30 minute walk through the woods, she finally made it to a familiar meadow surrounded by trees, it was not a big space but it was still beautiful, with wildflowers (hahah see what I did there)  scattered all over the place. She found a spot in the sun, sat down and enjoyed this feeling of peace. Kayla sat there for a while until she heard some rustling in the distance, her stomached dropped, it sounded like foot steps. No one else knew about this place except... she turned her head around 

" tom"

"Kayla" he paused " we got to stop running in like this"

Omg I've actually updated! whoop whoop! So this chapter is longer than usual, its a little over 1000 word not counting this A/N. I've stopped updating my other book, but now I think I'm gonna start a Peter Parker story. It will not be a (y/n) story though (sorry) Also I want to point out that I like it when ya'll comment on my stories! Don't forget to vote.
