All minds froze as they watched the news on the TV. "They're letting them go." Haechan stated, as if no one knew. He turned to the others, who's eyes were still glued to the screen, until Doyoung noticed him staring at them and turned to him. "Does that mean we're free people now?" he asked, suddenly bringing realisation to the others.
"Yes." they turned behind them to see Taeil coming out of his room. "It does."
They were still unable to believe the fact that all this time while they were in hiding and were made to believe they're contact with anyone outside was bared, Taeil kept his secret with Baekhyun, and now saved the lives of thousands of people.
"And yes Haechan, you can attend a normal college life from now on." he continued, and smiled as the younger gasped out of joy. Trodding footsteps could be heard from the stairs, and they turned to see someone coming head down, hands dangling. "Taeyong!" Haechan exclaimed running to him and engulfing him in a hug. Taeyong smiled slightly, before a frown took over his face again.
"How's Seulgi?" he looked up hearing Yuta ask. Taking in deep breaths to hold back his tears, he motioned everyone to sit at the couches, him in the center, preparing to tell them what had happened.
"She... She won't wake up." he stammered, "She's in some sort of coma." failing to hold it any longer, a tear streamed down his cheek. When wiping it with his sleeve, his eyes fell upon the baby on the mattress at one side of the room. He got up and carried her, then sat back down kissing her forehead and hugging her tightly, "Sol... I'm sorry. I failed to protect your mother." he cried pressing his forehead on her's lightly. And for the first time, Sol was not a happy cheerful baby as she simply stared into her father's eyes emotionlessly.
Johnny sat next to Taeyong patting his back, trying to calm him. "It's alright Taeyong. She'll get better, I know it. And besides, we're free. We can go back and live normally as ourselves." he said trying to sound happy. Taeyong didn't look up, but simply nodded as he properly sat Sol in his lap.
"When you guys get back..."
"You're not coming?" Johnny cut him off, responded with him shaking his head.
"I won't go back until Seulgi wakes up. There's no way I can go because people are already wanting to see her. Until she's awake, I'm staying here." he placed Sol on Johnny's lap, then got up and turned firstly to Haechan, "Haechan, do well in the college exam. I already got three colleges lined up who want you in after seeing your reports from Taeil. And Taeil, those three are also willing to accept you as a a full time staff." he told the eldest, then turned to each and every person one by one. "Mark, it's up to you if you want to go back to Canada, or stay here. In both cases, I've got a university with your acceptance letter."
"Is she in the one here?" Mark asked a little excitedly, replied by a small smile from Taeyong.
"Yes, she is. Winwin, you can go back to China now. Your family is dying to meet you. Jungwoo, I'm not sure what you want to do, but you can join Mark if he goes here, or you can continue in Haechan's company, it's up to you. Jaehyun..."
"I'm not going back to my family." he cut off their leader. Taeyong sighed and was about to speak, before he got cut off again, "They hated me, and..."
"I know." he stopped Jaehyun, holding his shoulder, "But they may want to see you again. Just meet them, and then choose whether to stay or not. Johnny, you already know what you're going to do. Doyoung, there's a hospital in Hongdae who are accepting interns at the moment." the three nodded, Jaehyun a little upset, but he knew he should comply.
Finally, Taeyong turned to Yuta, knowing he had the biggest responsibility yet. "Yuta, when you go back to Seoul, you'll find her. She's in the same hospital. And..." he trailed off still thinking whether this was a good idea or not. But he felt he had no choice. "Take Sol with you..."
"What!?!" the whole house echoed with all their voices as they shouted. Shocked would be an understatement. They've seen Taeyong with Sol, even though it hasn't been long, but they couldn't believe he was letting go of Sol this easily. At this point, they knew Taeyong was not at all in the right mind. He was hurt from losing love, so much to the point his mentality was lost too. But they knew they could do nothing about it.
Not yet.
"I know I'm isolating myself from everything," Taeyong attempted to explain, "but I don't want Sol to suffer. Please, take her and raise her until Seulgi wakes up." he pleaded Yuta, "Raise her to love herself, love her true form, and to not be... like me. Raise her like you are, kind hearted and..."
"No Taeyong." Yuta cut him off grabbing his shoulders, "You're the best father anyone would want. I'll do it, if it means that much to you, I'll take her and raise her, but only as her uncle, nothing else. She'll still be in your and Seulgi's footsteps."
Taeyong pursed his lips looking down, letting a few tears fall when Yuta pulled him into a hug. Soon everyone joined in, except Johnny as he still held Sol, so instead leaned on. When they all released, Taeyong took Sol from his arms, hugging the baby tight to himself laying kisses on her forehead.
"Sol..." he cooed as he made the baby face him, "Be a good baby, alright? Remember mummy and daddy always love you, and we will be back one day, don't worry."
