Slowly, Taeyong's eyes flickered as he woke up. He was never used to the hangover that came after. In any case, he was not used to being drunk, because it was only a once a year event for him. He never remembered what he did, or how he ended up in bed which he assumed was Yuta's doing.
But this time, as he slowly took in his surroundings, his eyes widened in shock. This was not his grey room. It was too colourful for a person like him.
"Oh, somebody's awake." he heard someone speak, and a sarcastically smiling face suddenly popped up in front of him. "Good morning sunshine." Seulgi greeted him with the biggest, creepiest smile she could get, obviously trying to annoy him.
Clearly that worked. "What the hell am I doing here?" he asked, back to the rude tone she had figured he was born with.
"Let's see." she put her hand out and started to count. "You, plus alcohol, plus drunk, plus anger issues, plus fever... Yea, that's pretty much it." she explained as if a doctor, annoying him even more as he grunted while getting up, rubbing his forehead.
"How long have I been here?" he asked again, in obvious hangover pain.
"Twelve hours." she answered walking towards her shelf, looking for something.
"Oh s***!" he exclaimed quickly standing up, "I have to get to work!" he rushed around aimlessly, when Seulgi suddenly stopped in front if him.
"OK mister, but take this first." she held up her hand, and he furrowed his eyebrows at the pill in it. "Hangover medicine. Trust me, seeing you last night, you'll probably need this." she spoke as if a mother, irritating him even more.
"Whatever." he said taking it from her hand in a rough swipe, and walking out. Seulgi looked at him with disgust and scoffed as she shut the door closed, going back to doing whatever she could.
Taeyong entered their office floor and found everything in place. The others we're already doing whatever they had to, so he went across to his table, tossing the pill somewhere on it. The headache was still there, but he did his best to ignore it and started typing away in his laptop. At times he would close his eyes, and suddenly get scenes playing in his head.
You're good looking. If only your personality didn't ruin that.
What was that? He thought of the words that played in his head. He shook off his thoughts and went back to work, when the throbbing pain returned, and he leaned back again closing his eyes.
"Mum... Is dad coming back yet? He promised to play football with me."
"He's almost here. Don't worry."
"OK. You... YOU LIED!"
That's not mum's voice... But it's too familiar... Akh... Taeyong opened his eyes as the pain only got worse. He looked at his table, and noticed the pill Seulgi had given him. He sighed, never thinking he would have come to this, as he took the pill and went to the water dispenser.
"Mark..." Doyoung poked his table neighbour, "Mark... Look, he's taking hangover medicine." he pointed to Taeyong, and the younger covered his mouth to avoid the sound of his gasp projecting.
"Oh wow! That's not Taeyong." he said in a low voice. The two watched as Taeyong returned to his table and, to their surprise again, took a nap. "How do you think he fainted last night? I don't think it was the alcohol."
"Whatever it was, it also seemed to have knocked some sense into him." Doyoung said contented, "Let's get back to work." he told him, pushing Mark back to his cubicle. But he knew Doyoung was right.
Taeyong was changing, even if by one percent each day.
