"And I will call upon your name."Ambers pov
11:00pm, saturday
My hands gripped tightly onto the steering wheel, letting myself turn to the right as I pulled onto the familiar sight of Ethan's street.
My knuckles had turned a white colour from gripping onto the wheel so tightly; out of anger.
Ever since seeing Anna at the mall earlier, I had been so miserable. Although I keep telling myself I don't care, it still stung to know she could do that to me.
The low mumble of the radio suddenly stopped as I parked up on the curb, right outside of his house.
A few of the lights were on inside, signifying that someone was in.
As I slowly paced towards the front door, the feeling of nerves filled my stomach as I realised that Ethan didn't actually know I was here.
Neither did my parents. They thought I was in bed, sound asleep.
However, the last thing I could do right now was sleep. My mind was flooded with thoughts, keeping me wide away.
The only person I needed to see, was Ethan. I needed to see his face. I needed his reassurance that things would be all okay.
Hesitantly, I gently knocked my fist against the hard wooden door three times, before stepping back and waiting for an answer.
There was silence on the other side, until one dim light switched on by the porch I was stood at, as the door opened slightly.
My eyes locked with those of Ethan's dark hazel ones, causing a light smile to form on my lips.
However, that smile quickly faded when Ethan's eyes stared at me, almost in panic. He didn't look happy to see me at all.
A heavy sinking feeling filled my stomach, causing me to feel nauseous as it was clear something was wrong.
"You can't be here." His voice was low and stern, throwing me off guard slightly. I watched as he quickly turned to look behind him, like he was checking to see if someone was there.
My eyebrows narrowed in suspicion at his odd reaction. "What's wrong?" I enquired as I leaned my body to the left slightly, in hopes of seeing what was behind him.
His large body quickly blocked my view however, before quickly sliding through the door, and shutting it behind him.
I stared up at Ethan's now nervous state as the two of us stood silently on his front porch.
"This isn't a good time, Amber." His voice was stern as the glimmer from his dark eyes stared down into mine.
I opened my mouth to respond with an apology, but stopped when Ethan's warm hand grabbed onto mine; pulling me as we walked down his porch and down the street a little.
I couldn't help but notice how he would turn back at the house every few seconds; only stopping when we were out of view.
