Chapter 1

It was like other day Y/N was at her locker putting away her study’s material after finishing her class for the day and ready to went home back into her bed to drown herself reading books all day.

She closed her locker shut and as she walked down the almost-empty corridor, Y/N stopped on her tracks when she saw something out of the window that makes her to do so.

Her eyes wander off to watch the scene outside the window. From afar there stood her long crush for 3 years, Mark Lee.

He was standing alone under the shade of the tree. His tall and lean, how handsome he always looked even with simple outfit, Y/N can’t help but to fall for him every day although she knows she should not do so.

His cute and charming smile as he looks at whatever in his phone. A smile makes it way to Y/N face but it immediately fades away when an unpleasant sight happening right in front of her eyes.

A girl giddily walks towards Mark and she entangled her arms with Mark. They were talking for a bit and the girl peck Mark’s cheek and soon they walk away while talking and laughing happily at something they say to each other. Y/N stare at him until they were out of her sight. That was a heartbreaking sight.

Y/N enter her house to see it was empty as always. Well you see, Y/N is an only child in the family so she is always feeling lonely plus the fact that both her parents were always busy with their work and sometimes business trips.

Y/N walk into her room and changes her clothes. She grabbed her history books also some books to read considering she is having her History’s monthly test tomorrow.

She shoves everything into her backpack and ran downstairs into the kitchen. She went to grab some apples to be eaten later and saw a sticky note on the counter and some money.

‘Mom and dad won’t be home until 7 so just order take out when you’re hungry. Btw Happy Birthday sweetie! -love Mum ‘

Y/N wore her vans and lock the door. Before she left, she checks the mailbox of her house expecting something for her.
She was very excited as she grabbed an envelope that were address with her name.

Y/N settled down under the tree and took out her books. She was at her favorite’s place where she can be alone and calm her mind.

It was not very deep in the forest, just nearby her neighborhood but still safe to be in. She always sits under the tree nearby at the end of the cliff, it was dangerous like you won’t make it alive once you fall down the cliff but Y/N find it very comforting as she sit down comfortably while receiving warm yet cool breeze from the sea. The sea view always calm herself and mind.

Y/N took out the cake she just bought on her way here with the money her mom left for her. She put the candles and light them up with the matchsticks given. She closes her eyes as she makes her wish.

‘I wish I can have a happier and live a joyful life. I wish I can experience the happiness I’ve been long wanting.’

With that Y/N blows the candle and have herself some bites of the cakes. Then she rummaged through her bag and pull out the envelope she receives today.

She opened them and saw it was a Birthday Greeting cards from her beloved cousin, Donghyuck. She always receives them every year on her birthday.A smile plastered on her face as she reads what he wrote for her

‘Happy Birthday to you Birthday girl! I know you will be lonely and I really wish I could visit you and celebrate your birthday with you but this time I can’t. I’m sorry but next year I’ll make sure I will force my dad to let me visit you. Hehehe. Have a great time Y/N! and don’t be hard to yourself. Gosh you should rest yourself a bit from studying so hard sometimes. And again happy 17th Y/N!

It was around 5 when the winds start to blow stronger than usual, the wave from the sea crash aggressively against the cliff.

Y/N decided to shove her things up into her bag and lastly hold her history books on her arms when the winds blow her hair. She was busy putting away strands of her hair when the card from her cousin slips off her history books and it was flying off heading to the end of the cliff.

Y/N ran after it and caught it in time but she trips over some roots and lose her balance. Then she found herself falling as tears escape her eyes.

‘I guess this is it.’
