As promised, I came back the next day around the same time. But when I got to her balcony, Aera was not there. I peeked through her sliding door to see if she was inside. Not in there either... I sighed and wondered if I should just go. But where? I didn't feel like going home yet and I had already seen my friends today. Hmm what if I- no... maybe if- no... oh! What about-

"What are you doing?"

I panic and turn, "yah! Stop sneaking up on me it's scary!"

"Didn't you hear me?" Aera tilts her head sideways. "I wasn't even sneaking up on you."

I look at her up and down.

She was wearing a black oversized hoodie that stopped just right above her knees with some black boots that made her a lot taller than she was. Her wavy hair was split into two high ponytails.

"Where did you go?" I lean against the railing.

"My job," she says.

"What days do you work?" I wanted to know so I could bother her whenever she's free.

"Saturday mornings til noon and after school on Wednesday's and Thurs- wait," she pauses and scrunches her eyebrows, "why am I telling you? For all I know you could be a stalker." She folds her arms.

I was about to defend myself when my phone suddenly dings. I take it out of my pocket and smile as soon as I see who it was.

~Noona Nariririri~

7:15 pm | My brother told me he saw you with your mom, are you back in town?

Yes!! Let's meet up! | 7:15 pm

"Who is it?" Aera asks as I put my phone down.

"It's the girl that used to live here!" I said excitedly. "Do you want to meet her?"

She shakes her hair causing her ponytails to swish, "I'm tired."

I nod in understanding.

7:17 pm | Sure. Where?

Where we always ate late night ramen (: | 7:17 pm

See you soon~~ | 7:18 pm

I missed... I started to type but decided to leave it. I'll tell her in person. I then look back up at Aera who was now leaning against the door. "I have to go."

She shrugs, "okay." She peels herself off the glass and walks into her room. She then gives me a small wave as she starts to close the door.

"Wait," I run towards her and grab hold of the door handle. "Can I get your number?"

Her cheeks start to turn pink, "oh, uh..."

"Let's be friends from now on, yeah?" I hand her my phone.

She takes it hesitantly but dials in her number anyway.

"Thanks," I give her a closed smile. "Let's get food tomorrow. I'll treat you." Before she could protest I jump over the balcony railing and grabbed hold of the vines tightly. "Have a good night, Kitty."

The Song Nari I used to know changed a lot in just six months. Her once long blond hair had now been cut short and has grown back to black. She even grew out her fringe. It was weird to see her forehead exposed like this. Her fashion sense changed too. She went from pastels to darker colours. She was even wearing a black leather jacket with a small detail on the left side. It was a red crescent moon.

I decided not to say anything about her appearance, maybe she just wanted a change. I walk up to her and tap my finger on the table in front of her, "I'm disappointed, you didn't contact me the whole time I was away."

She looks up from her phone, "Channie," she breathes out. She then stands up and gives me a hug.

I've longed for this for a while. I hugged her back tightly.

She lets go slowly then scans my face. "You've changed."

I chuckle, "you haven't at all." Not your personality anyway. I hope...

We sit facing each other at the table.

"I invited a friend to meet you if you don't mind," she says. "She's running late though."

I laugh at the coincidence, "I invited a friend to come meet you too but she was tired."

"She?" Noona raises an eyebrow.

"She," I smirk. "Don't worry though. You'll always be my number one."

Nari noona and I had a somewhat complex relationship. We had been neighbours for as long as I can remember and I had a crush on her ever since I met her. She knows this of course but she never returned the feelings.

I didn't mind though. As long as I could stay close to her that's all that mattered.

"Right," she says a little too serious. Usually she would get annoyed or just laugh it off when I said sweet things to her.

I guess her personality changed too.

"How's dance school going? I forgot you were coming back for... six months?" She forgot? She has a memory of a dolphin!

"Yeah, I'm going back at the end of this year and my classes will be ongoing for the next three years so I guess when I come back for a holiday it won't be any longer than two or three weeks. Until Christmas break, of course," I couldn't hide the disappointment in my voice when I was explaining this to her.

"I see, I guess we won't see each other much anymore. I have a full time job now," she says hesitantly.

"What happened to going to Korea University?" I was shocked. It's been her long term dream to study there.

"I need to help dad out and earn some money so we can send Yubin to art school." Her younger brother was nothing but a troublemaker. But she adored him anyway. "Plus my job pays good. We could finally afford to move out to a slightly better house."

I was about to ask what her job was when a girl in an all black attire interrupts, she was wearing the same leather jacket as noona.

"Sorry, I'm late," she says.

Noona pats the seat next to her and so the girl sits.

"You must be Lee Chan," her led lips curve into a smile. "I'm Choi Sun," she extends a hand which I take and shake. "Nari and I are the same age so I guess I'm your noona too."

Noted.

"Where have you been?" Noona asks annoyed. "You were with that Jisoo weren't you?"

Choi Sun rolls her eyes and says, "don't be rude it's Jisoo 'op-pa.'"

"Is he your boyfriend?" I ask.

Noona chuckles and says, "she wishes! But we know it's too dangerous to date guys like-"

Choi Sun nudges noona.

Noona immediately bites her tongue. "Let's go buy some ramen, are you hungry?" She looks at me.

I nod, "sure. I could eat."

Noona stands and takes Choi Sun with her.

The Song Nari I used to know had changed completely. The girl I like is now keeping secrets from me when I used to be her diary. I matter less to her now.
