I was curled up on the sofa watching some cheesy television drama. I was enjoying having a break from the pressure of being a professional make up artist. Make a single mistake and you won't be easy finding another job in this area again.

It was also nice having a lie in of a morning. There's only so many 3 am starts a person can take. It was six in the evening when I decided to check my emails, anything to get away from this God damn awful television drama.

I logged on to my works email address and the amount of unread messages overwhelmed me. The only real use of my works email address is for companies asking me to come and work for them. I sighed as I knew I would have to sit and read through them all but it was better than watching what was on TV at the moment.

One caught my eye immediately. It was an email from the BBC asking me to work on the new series of The Voice: UK. I've watched the show in the past and was impressed by it. The hours for the blind auditions sounded gruelling.

I had to be on standby to touch up their make up all day everyday for a few weeks so I was there working for the same hours as the judges. But it didn't matter to me, the hours were no different from what I've done before.

After an hour if reading through email after email I decided to go for the BBC's offer. I quickly replied to the email and logged off. I was wondering about who the new judges were going to be this year. I actually got more excited than I should've done.

It was only a job, but it was nice to work in London again though. Big movie companies work in different countries around the world. I haven't worked in London for ages and I was actually looking forward to it.
