The freezing rain was able to comfort me, feeling almost warm on my freezing skin. I tilt my head back and gaze up, allowing the drops to slip down my face. I don't want to cry; I'll allow what holy beings may exist to aid me in that. I hoped that the rain would clear my vision if the world, if for only a moment; that the air would be cold enough to freeze time. Maybe I could forget. I could forget that it's raining. I could forget that it's my birthday. I could forget that I was left here. I could even forget Nathaniel.
If I stand still enough, maybe I'll blend into the clouds above me.
There, I will belong.
