(The following chapter will include blood, violence, and gore. If you get woozy with that kind of stuff, I advise you to be cautious in reading this. Enjoy!)
Jisoo's PoV:
It's been two days since the outbreak.
The streets of Seoul have been empty, well, except for the slow and dead zombies, of course.
The outbreak first started during a school day, a Wednesday to be exact. Wednesday, April 14th. I was in biology.
The day was like any other school day: useless classes and annoying teachers.
Even though it was just two days ago, all I can remember was the alarms flaring through the school speakers.
No one knew what was going on, so we just sat there, covering our ears.
An automated voice played over the speakers, announcing that this wasn't a test. The school building should be evacuated immediately, for there was a public emergency.
Everything after that was pretty much a blur. All I remember was running to my locker, grabbing my bag, and finding my three best friends and getting the hell out of there.
We've been staying in my house since then, since my house was the closest to the school.
I live with my older brother, Namjoon, since both of our parents died when we were younger. A robber broke into the house one day when they just so happened to stay home to celebrate their anniversary.
We came home from school to see my Dad with multiple stab wounds all over his body and my Mom's head split open.
My Brother has been protecting me ever since then, and now, he has to do it more often.
Our supply of ramen, pop tarts, honey nut cheerios, and chicken noodle soup has been keeping us stable for the past two days, but I wonder how long it'll be until we run out.
I've brought up this thought to everyone else, and of course, Lisa was the only one up for actually going out to get food. She's the bravest one out of all of us, even though she's the youngest.
Everyone else basically shut down the idea, saying it would be too dangerous.
"Yes, it would be dangerous," Lisa tried to reason with us, "but how else are we going to survive? We can't drink our own spit and eat peanuts for the rest of time!"
"I understand that Lisa," Namjoon said, his arms crossed, "but we're risking the lives of all of us. There's no telling how deadly those monsters are. We just can't take the risk!"
"So what are we supposed to do?! Just sit here and die of starvation?!" Lisa yelled, slamming her hands down on the kitchen counter.
"L-Lisa is right," mumbled Rosé, "we have to get food somehow, right? This is the only option."
Namjoon sighed and ran a hand through his hair. He moved to the couch in the living room and sat down. There was a moment of silence until he finally spoke.
"I know a friend of mine who lives near the supermarket. If he's still alive, and that's a major if, we can travel there. My car should still be up and running."
"Who is this friend, Namjoon?" I asked.
"His name is Hoseok, you guys might know him. He might be in your grade, or maybe a grade above you guys."
I looked back at Lisa, Jennie, and Rosé. Yes, we knew who he was. He's a senior, but he's in my morning homeroom.
We're only juniors, but the upper class students usually converse with each other on a daily basis, since we're so close to graduating ourselves.
