I didn't come to school the next day. I said I need a day off when my mom asked me why. I just didn't want to face Amiel and the kids. My mom called me to come down. Derik came by and he was checking if I was fine. Although Derik is my boyfriend she didn't want us in my room unlike Amiel that can barge in anytime he wanted. Derik asked me to prom again. It will be in a few weeks from now. Jer came walking through the front door late. I could see she was hesitant to talk to me. Because we were twins I can feel what he was feeling and we had inside gestures that only we can understand. I frowned.
"Come on Jer, what is it?" I asked.
"So we are on speaking terms now?" he asked. My voice abandoned me. I couldn't find them. Seems like they were eaten by the guts. He waited for my reply but nothing came out. "By the way, here's the assignment we have today and the principal told us that we will sing for the prom so we have to practice. I asked the boss if we can do it, they said yes and said that our album will be out next week so if you have some time besides wasting it with someone inapt for it, please, I beg you to visit the studio and have a meeting with Deomie. She's not counted in this little feud of ours." Derik and I were sitting silently in the couch. Before Jer came up the stairs he stared at the clock. "Derik, it's a bit too late. You should go home. And yes I'm not being polite about it. I'm practically kicking you out. So go." You can see Jer's indulging the taste of his victory.
I asked Derik to go. "I'm not sure what your brother's problem is with me, but it's getting on my nerves. So see you again tomorrow?" Derik said. "Don't mind him. Yeah sure." I replied. Derik hugged me before going out. I clambered up the stairs. I can't believe Jer did that. I settled down my bed and let the covers eat me.
The next day I didn't went to school again. I was on the kitchen when Amiel and Jer came. They sat on the couch as soon as they went inside the house. Moments later the doorbell rang. Jer was the one to open the door.
"Not welcome in here bro." I heard him say. I came running the kitchen door. "Come on in babe. Im in the kitchen. Preparing snacks for the two of us." Jer gazed upon me. I can saw Amiel looked at me too. Then I saw a bragging smile on Derik's lips. I swear to the Gods, the testosterone level of these dudes was oozing. Derik stepped in and walked across the living room.
"Not welcome at all." Jer shouted.
"He's my visitor so beat it Jer." I shouted back.
We sat in the kitchen. Derik sat in one of the chairs in the bar. I gave him a sandwich.
"I talked to the principal today. I signed my band in to play a couple of songs in the prom too." Derik stated.
"Way to go babe." I was not all excited to go to the prom. He was talking about it all night long. I reckon he was excited. After hours of talking, he decided to leave. He said it was late and he didn't want any of the drama like last night. I followed him through the front door. We closed the door behind us.
"Why is Amiel here when it's a bit late too." He was talking in a hushed voice.
"Well, Amiel is practically our family, so he can go in and out whenever he wants." I explained. He shrugged and left.
I got to the studio the next day. They told me the schedule we will be having next week and the week after that. Apparently we will be busy doing autograph signing and mall tours around the state. I didn't knew what to feel. I can feel the weight of the tiredness that we will be having. Well at least the album is gonna be out.
Monday. I got to school that morning. When I came to our classroom, it's like nothing happened last week. The day went longer than usual. The album was out too.
