Fucked up

I shoved the last of my stuff in my suitcase and zipped it up, with some difficulty because it didn't all fit.

"So, what are you going to do now that it's over?" Mat walked over to me.
"Hmmm... let me think... sleep, sleep... and I think sleep!" I smiled and Mat chuckled.

"You know, you're amazing." Mat suddenly said.
"Uh, thanks?" I raised an eyebrow at him. Mat never compliments people, ever.
"Sorry if that came off weird." He chuckled.
"No, it's ok." I pulled the handle of my suitcase up.
"Call me sometime?" Mat said.
Oh God.

"Um, yeah... sorry I have to go now, my cab is waiting." I quickly walked past him with my stuff and got off the bus. I had never heard him genuinely say something like that. He was always cracking jokes and being sarcastic.

I hopped in a cab and I watched the scenery around me flash before my eyes as I was driven home. The drive wasn't to long because I had purposely ended the tour in Ireland where I lived. Now, I wasn't Irish, but I moved from (pick a country!) to live here because I thought it was beautiful.

We rounded the corner to my apartment and I couldn't believe what I saw.
It's all gone
What happened?
The apartment building was burned to the ground. I got out of the cab and stared at what was in front of me.
All my stuff?
Why didn't someone call me about this?
I fell to my knees and my eyes started stinging.

Don't cry
Don't cry
Crying makes you weak, y/n
You're not weak.

I heard footsteps coming down the sidewalk and I quickly stood up and started walking away. I vaguely heard the person calling out to me.

Can't people just fucking leave me alone?!
First the coffee shop, then Mat acting weird, and now this?!

I started running until the person gave up. I decided I needed to get myself together and find a hotel. I searched for one on my phone and booked a room. I walked there and was given a room key. When I reached the room I quickly called the owner of the apartment building. She said it happened suddenly during the night and she just hadn't gotten around to calling me. I was given my months deposit back. After I got off the phone it kept dinging with messages. I was so tired that I ignored them and went straight to sleep.

I woke up feeling like I hadn't slept at all. I was just stressed about having to find a new apartment and honestly the weather in Ireland wasn't helping my spirits because it was rainy. When I first moved here I wasn't aware of the fact that it rained every 2 seconds. I finally checked my phone to see that I had a ton of messages from Sean:

Hey, so I thought I saw you a minute ago...

Are you ok?

I'm pretty sure it was you, you were in front of a building that had burned down

You seemed pretty upset

Sorry if I'm bothering you but I just thought I'd check on you

I'm worried about you

-I texted back:

Yeah sorry I'm ok....

Oh god I thought something had happened

No, I'm alright I guess

What's wrong?

My apartment building burned down and I didn't know

They didn't call you?!

She said she was too busy

Wtf? If my apartment burned down I would like to know. Who is this lady imma beat her up

-I chuckled a little

No no you don't have to do that, I'm good now.

You sure?

Yeah
Thanks for checking on me

No need to thank me I was worried

Hey, what are you doing in Ireland anyway? You were at my show in Brighton

I'm just visiting family here

Oh, fun

Yeah.... so I'm guessing you haven't started your sleep coma yet?

Not yet 😂 so much has gone on I completely forgot about it. I'm just going to drink a bunch of coffee

I practically live on coffee! I can show you my favorite coffee place around here if you'd like?

Yeah sure! I can already tell this hotel coffee isn't going to be great
What time were you thinking?

I can come meet you at your hotel in about an hour

Ok! Sounds like a plan

(End texting)
I texted Sean the hotel name and started getting ready. I just threw on a hoodie and jeans and brushed my teeth. I put my hair up quickly in a bun and plugged in my phone so it could charge for a little while before I had to leave.

Soon I heard a knock on my door and I grabbed my phone before opening the door.
"Hey Sean." I smiled.
"Hi!" He hugged me and when he pulled away I realized he was wearing glasses.

Damn, he's kinda cute.

He noticed I was staring at them.
"I know, they make me look like a dork." He chuckled.
"Nah, they bring out your blue eyes." I winked, "but yeah they also make you look like a dork." Sean rolled his eyes and we walked out of the hotel together.

"It's just a short walk away, about 10 minutes. Plus I don't have a car so...." Sean added.
"I don't either. I just Uber everywhere." I grinned, "plus I like walki-" I was interrupted by a few teenage girls.
"OMG it's y/n AND Jacksepticeye?! Best day of my life!" One of them said as they ran up to us.

Jacksepticeye??
Who the fuck is that?

We both took pictures with the girls and they eventually walked away squealing. I turned to him and crossed my arms.
"Alright, bud, you're going to have to tell me who you are now." Sean let out a little laugh.
"So, I'm Jacksepticeye... a youtuber."
A youtuber?

"I fucking knew you looked familiar!" I shook my head smiling, "I don't think I've actually watched your videos though."
Sean made a fake offended expression and gasped.
"Never watched me before?"
"To be fair, you came to one of my concerts without knowing me so we're even now."
"Yeah, but you also tricked me!" He said raising his eyebrows at me.
"You called me short!"
"Ok fine, so we are even." We laughed and a few other people came up to us asking for autographs.

"At least we're both well known." Sean said when they left, "otherwise it'd be weird for the other person."
"Yeah," I did a dramatic hair flip, "I guess I am pretty popular."
Sean smiled and rolled his eyes at me and we continued walking to the coffee shop.
