Sal Fisher walked down the school hallway that was filled to bursting point with hormonal teenagers. Larry, his best friend, walked beside him, glaring at anyone who stared at the boy for too long because of his mask. The 15 year old boy looked at his "rumored-to-be pot head" friend and raised a hidden eyebrow.
"Dude, either someone killed you and your ghost is a real dead beat, or your high. What is it?" Sal asked smugly.
"You're kidding, right? Not you too..." Larry groaned and put his forehead against the lockers that decorated the wall. Sal laughed and waved a hand in the air, trying to calm his, obviously hungover, friend down.
"Calm down. You seemed like you needed a laugh or ten. Speaking of which, your drunk is showing." The blue haired boy smiled his hidden smile, pointing at Larry.
"Nice." Larry muttered, fumbling with the Bobby pin in his hand. The boy smiled as he opened his locker, throwing his bag inside as he turned to his friend.
"What're you doing after school?" Larry asked curiously.
"Apparently taking care of you. You're a total mess!" Sal laughed. As did Larry. It was little moment like these that filled the two boys with joy, that kept them motivated. Yet, The moment was short lived, as an average height blonde boy trudged over to the pair, wearing his usual purple sweater and denim shorts. Travis Phelps. Sal flinched as the boy approached, his posse not far behind.
"Sup, Sally Face." The boy mocked.
"Still wearing that stupid Halloween mask I see." Travis smiled."It's a prosthetic..." Sally recalled.
"Oh, right, I'm sorry. I forgot. So, what, do you like, have no face under there?" Travis questioned, casually trying to lift the bottom of the mask up. Sal swatted the boys hand away, pressing himself into the lockers. Larry took this as a chance to slowly move in front of Sal, his stance protective.
"Back off, Travis. You know something actually happened, right?" Larry glared at the boy.
"Yeah, the condom broke." Travis' lips curled into a sinister, smug smile as others that had gathered in the hallway to watch let out small snickers."Recalling your birth story, Phelps?" A voice interrupted from somewhere inside the crowd as Ashely walked forward. Travis scoffed at the comment.
"Unlike blue boy here, I was wanted. And, both my parents are still alive." Travis spat, his words laced with poison. That crossed the line. Larry walked over to the cocky blonde, throwing a punch into the side of his face that caused him to collapse. Travis held his face as two of his "henchmen" walked over to Larry and pinned him against a locker.
"I'm not one for hitting unworthy dipshits like you, but I have this itch that I need satisfied." Travis explained.
"Go to prison. I'm sure someone in the showers will be happy enough to reach that itch for ya." Larry smirked. Sal, being the good friend he was, refused to let Travis hurt Larry. So, the short boy walked over, pushing the henchmen off of his best friend. Sal grabbed Larry's wrist and drug him out of the crowd of kids. Travis didn't chase them, why bother? He'd get his chance. Ashley followed the boys as the crowd split like the Red Sea to let them pass. Once the girl caught up to the boys, she could see that Larry was clearly very angered by something.
"You didn't have to."
"Well, I did, that's all that matters. You shouldn't let them push you around like that, Sal!" They boys fought until they saw Ashely approach them.
...
It was bologna day at lunch, Sal winced as Kim piled the suspicious meat onto his plate. Once he returned to his seat, he looked over at the table next to him; the table Travis sat at. Sal locked eyes with the boy and furrowed his eyebrows. Travis slowly stood, slinking over to Sal and grabbing him by one of his pigtails. Travis yanked back, dragging Sal a bit. Larry rushed over to Sal, but the blue haired boy gave him a warning glance to stay away.
"Come with me." Travis grimaced as he pulled Sal to his feet and dragged him away by his wrist. Larry just stood there, it took everything he had not to go after his best friend. Sal reaches out to him slightly, but Larry wasn't looking anymore. He hated seeing his best friend dragged away by some bully.
Travis approaches the men's bathroom, throwing Sal inside of it before walking in and locking the door. Sal glared at him, but he knew he wasn't strong enough to fight off the taller boy.
"W-What the hell do you want, Tra-a-vis!" Sal mentally cursed himself for stuttering, but also congratulated himself for remembering the nickname that Travis just loved. The blond boy glared at Sal, walking closer to him and grabbing him by the color. He shoved Sal up against the wall as the boy squirmed to escape.
Travis felt powerful.
"Sinner." Was all Travis murmured as he moved Sal's mask to the side. Sal tried to shove Travis back, trying to make the boy drop him.
It didn't work.
The boy looked up at the ceiling, seemingly staring at nothing.
"Forgive me father." He looked back at Sal, crashing his lips into the other boy's. Sal struggled, hoping someone would walk in. Sal's prayers were answered as he heard a bang on the door. Travis pulled away and wiped his head around to face the door.
"Open the fuck up, Travis!" Larry shouted.
It was Larry.
Sal smiled to himself, the grin not hidden by his mask.
"Fuck off, Johnson!" Travis yelled back.
"Open the damn door or I'll break it down!" Larry demanded. This was going to be a long day.
