TW: self harm
Sal slowly got out of his bed, the chilly hair slapping him in the face.

"I'm so sorry, Lar..." Sal mumbled to himself, walking into his even colder bathroom and locking the door. He looked at his pale face, tracing his fingers over the scars as he gazed at the empty socket of his eye. He sighed, rolling up the baggy sleeves of his new Sanity's fall hoodie that Larry got him for Christmas. He carefully opened the drawer and searched through it, finding the lone razors that his dad used for shaving. Sal slowly took one our of the box that his dad kept them in, pressing it firmly against the left side did his thin wrist. Sal slowly dragged the sharp object across his wrist, flinching as he saw the crimson that seeped from the wound.

Every name he'd been called, everything that had happened to him, earned him another cut.

Slut
Faggot
Gay
Bitch
Cunt
Never good enough

So many more that he count even name. But he knew they were there. He still felt the fresh sting of the venom each person muttered them with.

Soon enough he ran out of room on his left wrist and started on his right one, blood lightly seeping through the fresh cuts he had made. After around ten minutes, he was done. Sal only stopped when his vision would get blurry, or when he heard his dad get home from work. This time, he felt as though the room was spinning, he felt nauseous, and like the world was crashing down on him.

"Sally Face?" He heard someone say. He looked around before realizing that he had slipped the walkie talkie into the pocket of his new sweatpants. Without knowing a reason why, he started to cry, and breakdown.

"L-Larry?" He asked, hoping it wasn't obvious. He set the radio down then grabbed the gauze, wrapping up both his wrists.

"Hey, you ok?" Larry questioned, his voice concerned.

Ok? Had he ever really felt ok since his mom died, since Travis...?

"O-Ok? Yeah, I'm ok Larry."Sal sighed, rolling down his sleeves, the sting of his open wounds under the dressing making him flinch.

"I'm on my way." Larry replied, static following his voice. Sal sighed, grabbing his anxiety meds and anti-depressants. He slipped the pills in his mouth and walked out of the bathroom, flipping off the light and grabbing the walkie as he left.

Sal silently walked into his room, cuddling back into his bed.

"The door unlocked?" Larry asked silently through the device.

"Always. In hopes that someone kills me in my sleep while dads gone." Sal sighed, shrugging.

"Don't even joke like that, Blue." Larry replied.

Joke? Sal thought to himself as Larry gently pushed open his bedroom door. Sal looked up at the boy as he closed the hunk of wood behind him.

"C'mere, Sal. Tell me what's wrong." Larry held out his arms as he took a seat next to his friend.  Sal snuggled into his friends side, embracing the warmth he gave off.

"Nothing... what makes you think something is wrong?" Sal questioned, making eye contact with the dark haired boy as Larry wrapped his arms around Sal.

"Because I've heard your voice after you've cried." Larry replied, resting his lips on Sal's forehead as he closed his eyes. Sal blushed and slightly smiled.

"Nope. Just tired." The blue haired boy smiled, resting his head on Larry's shoulder.

"Sure, Sally Face. Sure." The brunette sighed, yawning. Soon, both boys fell asleep.

...

"Sal." Larry murmured, shaking his friend lightly. Sal woke up easily, staring at Larry with doll like eyes.

"Morning!" He smiled, getting off of Larry and walking over to the window. Larry followed close behind him, looking out the window from behind the short boy.

"Snow..." Sal smiled again, genuinely this time as he watched the small flakes fall from the sky onto the white ground.

"Hey..." Larry mumbled, wrapping his arms around Sal's waist from behind. Sal blushed, flinching but soon relaxing.

"What?" Sal replied.

"Happy New Year's Eve." Larry smiled, walking away. "I gotta get back to my apartment. You comin?"

"Just give me a sec. I have to take care of dad first. Wouldn't want him choking on his own fuckin' tongue." Sal smiled, waving goodbye to Larry as he left.

...

Sal approached the treehouse, Larry he called and asked to meet him there with Ash and Todd. The short boy made his way up the treehouse, popping his head inside to see everyone already there.

"Am I late?" Sal asked, making his presence known when he sat next to Larry on the floor.

"Nope, just in time. It's not serious anyways. We just wanna hang out." Ash smiled.

"Neil, Jeff, and... Sabrina I believe her name is will be here soon. Leave you, Sal, the only single Pringle." Larry smirked. Sal was confused, looking up at Larry for more explanation.

"Oh uh, I meant Sabrina at the party last night and we kinda hit it off." Larry replied nervously. Sal froze, locking his gaze onto the floor.

Larry... has a girlfriend? Sal thought sadly to himself.
