"Megan?" Sal asked, his eye dancing around the vacant bathroom. He hadn't seen Megan for a while, but he wasn't too worried since he knew the red-eyed demon couldn't escape the amulet.
"Sally Face!" He heard a scream, then Megan's voice. The familiar voice brought him joy, he turned smiling a wide goofy grin.
"Hey, Meg!" He cheered. Megan smiles, an actual cheerful smile.
"Mommy was reading to me lots! I'm sorry you couldn't see me. I'm always there though. I just think that maybe humans can't always see the other side." She smiled.
"Other side?" Sal questioned.
"Yeah! Ya know, after...life? Yeah that's the word." She giggled. Sal nodded in understanding, squatting down to Megan's level.
"What do you think of this place? The bathroom I mean." Sal smiled.
"It's yucky!" Megan stuck out her tongue, making a face of pure disgust.
"I think I can fix that." Sal replied.
...
"That bathroom was disgusting, dude. I can't believe you convinced us to clean it." Neil mumbled, pressing his forehead against his cool locker.
"It was for Magen and it looks nice now." Sal smiled, patting Neil's back.
"Well, it's done and over with." Ashley smiled.
"Sorry that Chug chickened out. He's scared of ghosts." Maple muttered softly. "And the fifth floor."
"It's understandable. There was a lot of death there." Larry shrugged. Todd seemed anxious, which wasn't normal for the boy.
Neil nudged him softly. "You ok?" He mouthed. Todd nodded and shrugged.
"Just tired, I guess." Todd smiled, Sal was starting to get suspicious but decided to just ignore his friends odd behavior. Neil nodded, but seemed suspicious.
"Anyways, we need to get to class. We have to stop slacking off." Sal smiled, although no one could see it. Larry smiled back and took hold of his boyfriends hand, leading him to their next class.
...
"So, what I'm trying to say is-"
"That science is boring and no one cares." Travis blurted before the teacher could finish up his lesson.
"As I was trying to say." The teacher started, but Sal and Larry weren't listening to what he had to say. They were too focused on the fact that the untouched gear boy was going crazy. No one had ahold of it, no one had touched it. But it was going insane.
"What do you think is happening?" Larry questioned.
"I... I don't know. It started last night and won't stop, I can't even turn it off. It only lights up if I'm close to it. But... I'm not dead. Am I?" Sal muttered in a shaky tone. Larry placed a hand on Sal's 'cheek'.
"You're more real to me than reality itself." Larry smiled. Sal blushed at this, feeling his ears go red.
"Thanks, Lar. You always know what to say." He smiled, then looked back to the front of the room. Larry smiled and linked their fingers together just as the dismissal bell rang out. Everyone stood up, but Sal stated sitting.
"You coming?" Larry asked.
"Ahem... 'The bell doesn't dismiss you, I do'." Sal did his best Mrs. Packerton impression, failing horribly. Larry laughed, snorting in the middle which caused Sal to laugh as he stood up and walked hand in hand with Larry to the next class. Sal clung onto the amulet, rubbing his thumb around the green gems embedded into the black stone.
"Does anyone question that?" Larry asked.
"What?"
"Does anyone question it. The trap. The amulet." Larry reiterated."Oh. Uh... kind of? They stare and whisper. But... when don't they?" He shrugged.
"They stare because you're beautiful." Larry smiled, kissing the top of his head.
"Yeah, sure. Whatever you say." Sal smiled, shaking his head.
"It's true. You're the prettiest being to ever live~ and you're all mine." He smiled, poking one of Sal's dark hickeys. Sal flinched and playfully glared at Larry.
"I'm glad I met you, Larbear." Sal smiled, leaning into Larry.
...
"So... you like Larry?" Sal asked quietly.
"Yeah... I'm sorry. I-I know this is the biggest favor to ever ask, but... please... for me... back off?" Maple flinched, raising one eyebrow. Sal was dumfounded.
"Uhm... no? He's the only one that has really ever loved me. Why would I?"
"He cheated on you... maybe he doesn't like you," maple shrugged. "Maybe he just feels bad for your situation." Maple retorted. Sal choked back a small cry thinking about it.
Maybe he doesn't love me... who would? Sal thought to himself.
"N-no... I'm sorry, Maple. No." Sal shook his head and walked out of the small janitors closet. Maple followed close behind.
"Please just consider. I've never loved anyone more than him..." she whined.
"Why not Chug? His eyes go all sappy and love struck when he looks at you." Sal replied, keeping his eyes right in front of him as he walked.
"But I mean, it's Chug. We wouldn't make beautiful babies like Larry and I would!" She whimpered. (Soda is beautiful and adorable don't @ me)
"I said no! That's final!" Sal growled as he walked away from a now standing still Maple.
"That's... final" she repeated.
Wooooow it's been 3 days since I've posted. My mental state is slowly declining and these last few days have been the worst days probably ever.
...
I came out to my parents.
They basically disowned me, it all happened just yesterday. But I wanted to get this chapter out.
My mom found out that I was cutting.
I'm so sorry.
This book really sucks.
My writing sucks.
On a less depressing note, would you guys like a face reveal? Ya know, see the ugly mug behind this ugly book. Maybe soon? Comment if you'd like to :) (for those who don't know, I am, in fact, female.)
