My So Called Friend

Chapter 7

At school today, you suddenly went to see me.

You greeted me with a smile, why?

You never did this before. Why now?

The bell rang, I went to class quietly as per usual.

So my bullies don't see me.

But I was caught by one of them,

"Finished my homework yet idiot?" he said through a grin.

He held my backpack tightly in his palm so I couldn't escape.

"Yes sir..." I say and turned around to pull out his homework.

"Good, now be a good little bitch and scram." He said and kicked me towards my classroom.

I fell and hurt my knee,

It was bleeding but I didn't care about it much.

Even though it hurt a lot.

I've been through worse... I can do this.

I thought as I stood up and cleaned off the blood with some wet tissues.

I quickly bandaged it and went to class.

I was already late to class, but I had the perfect excuse.

"Sorry Madam, I tripped and fell so I went to see the nurse." I simply say and walked to the back of the class.

I went to my usual seat,

Only to find you sitting next to it.

I frowned and sat down and started to doodle in my notebook.

I didn't feel like listening to the teacher today.

"Hey, you okay?" you asked me with a expression I've never seen you give me before.

"When did you care?" I say bluntly and continued my doodling.

I was put into a bad mood because of just now.

But I couldn't help but feel bad that I talked back to him like that.

"It was him wasn't it? The guy who always bullies you?" you asked me with a frown.

"So what if it is? Weren't you friends with him? You used to bully me too."

I say as I look you in the eye.

But I saw a hint of sadness in your eyes,

A hint of regret even.

I sighed as the bell rang,

"I'm sorry..." I heard you whisper loud enough for me to hear.

I widened my eyes and looked at you.

You smiled softly at me and combed back your black hair through your fingers.

You packed your books and left me,

I went to you to my next class.

I can never understand you can I?
