My So Called Friend

Chapter 19

Today was a big day at our school, it was the annual winter dance to make way for the season.

It was almost Christmas too.

I was more excited then a 5 year old on his birthday with loads of cake and presents!

I rushed to make preparations for the grand opening of the winter ceremony.

Ace was there helping out the guys put the banner up on top of the giant doors that led into the school gym where the party would be held.

I was one of the organizers of this party and I was holding up my check list making sure everything was perfection.

This party only happened ONCE A YEAR of course it had to be the best of the best!

"A little higher Ace!" I cried as Ace tried to pull up the banner a little more. "More to the left Jake!" I cried to Ace's best friend Jake who was holding the other side of the banner.

"OK PERFECT!" I shouted, Ace and Jake settled the banner and climbed down the ladders they were standing on.

"All in a good days work, huh Jake?" said Ace to his best friend and they shared their special handshake and we all laughed.

I glanced behind because I thought someone was staring at me, I was correct.

It was none other then...

Sarah the senior girl. (Who you think it was? 😏)

She was glaring daggers at me behind one of the doors that led to the gym through the hallways.

"You know your not invisible right?" I said and she widened her eyes at me as she quickly scurried off.

"She's been... Stalking you lately..." said Ace suspiciously as she hurried away.

"MEH, she can go suck up to her bOyFrIEnd." I said in a funny tone causing Jake and Ace to laugh.

I'll be honest that it's been hard forgetting you... But I finally did.

I'm happy with Ace and I respectfully accept that experience with you.

It was good while it lasted but I guess things weren't meant to be...

For the past few months after that we've gone back to square one which was ignoring each other and pretending we don't know one another.

I respect that you'd wanna stay quiet.

I understand that maybe... Just maybe... You haven't let me go yet.

Well I'll be happy to forgive you and be friends again.

But I guess you'd rather have the cold shoulder once more.
