My So Called Friend

Chapter 8

You've been weird the whole day,

Smiling and waving at me when you see me.

It made me feel, happy...

You finally acknowledged me.

I was in a good mood,

Until he showed up.

"Hey there idiot, I need you to do this for me." he said.

He pushed some papers into my hands roughly making me stumble backwards.

"I'm not going to do your homework anymore, I'm not the idiot here. You are."

I say and drop his papers on the floor.

"Why you little... I'm not an idiot!" he shouted at me with anger seeping through his words.

"Oh yeah? Then why can't you do your own homework?" I say with a smirk.

I walked away but he pulled my arm harshly.

He tried to hurt me,

But then a miracle happened.

You showed up.

"Hey! What are you doing!? Let her go!" you shout at him with clenched fists.

"Oh yeah? What you gonna do about it small fry?" he said with a grin and held my wrist tightly.

I winced from his grip,

Which made you seem angrier.

He was slightly taller then you,

And a year older.

He could easily beat you.

Why would you care if I got hurt anyway you never did.

You were just like him before...

"Let her go!" you say and suddenly punch him making him let go of me.

You took my other hand and we ran from the scene.

"Thank you... But why did you help me? Don't you hate me..." I say and can't help the tears pricking my eyes.

It was all too much.

After so many years dealing with your bullshit.

"I don't hate you... In fact, I kinda like you." you say with a smile.

I widened my eyes and looked at you.

"W-What?" I stuttered, unable to process the words that you said.

You sigh and say, "I said I like you, now don't cry okay?" you say and pet my head.

I didn't even notice the tears that were running down my face.

I hugged you,

You were shocked at first but hugged me back.

"I-I like you t-too." I say into your chest as I say a sweet smile spread across your lips.

We stayed there for a moment.

It was a nice peaceful silence.

I wanted this moment to last for eternity....
