A/n OK... I looked at the Chapter between the reader and Laito and your comments as well and I've decided to rewrite it because I thought I might have offended some of you when I wrote that chapter, anyway, I managed to improve it a little bit and I hope it's a bit better, enjoy!
READER'S POV
After the fourth period ended, I decided to head to the roof where I can eat my lunch in peace since I was being bothered by some of the boys from my class and some of them were a bunch of pervs. Speaking of perverts, I wondered where Laito had disappeared to since I didn't see him in the second-period class.
After I had my lunch I laid down on the bench and I looked up at the starry night sky. I noticed three bright ones in the sky and I wondered if that was my birth parents and Toby up there. Who am I kidding? why am I being naive again?
Just when I was about to close my eyes and go for a nap, I sensed someone nearby and I grabbed my knife that I tucked away in my pocket and I held it against the culprit's neck.
"Whoa! whoa! Doll-chan! relax it's me!"
Laito said as he raised his hands in surrender when I held him by the collar with my knife against his neck. I shook my head and I tucked away my knife in my vest top.
"Good grief Laito, don't sneak up on me like that, you should have known by now that I have a sharp mind and I'm always keeping my guard up."
"Nufufu~ sorry~"
Laito stuck his tongue out at me when he said this. I sat back down on the bench and I crossed over my legs.
"Anyway, where were you? I didn't see you during the second-period class."
Laito smirked and he sat down next to me.
"I was dealing with your sister, she eavesdropped on me and I needed to punish her."
"Hmpf, figures, trouble always follow her when that mind of hers is in the clouds."
Laito chuckled and he wrapped an arm around my shoulder. I then asked him something.
"Hey, Laito?"
"Hm? yes, Doll-chan?"
"I know this may be odd for me to ask but if you yearn to hope something no matter what happens in this life, will it be a happy or a bad ending?"
I question Latio which made him smirk at me.
"Most humans in life have a different tragedy ending and yet they still, yearn to hope something good will happen to them because they don't want to face the harsh reality of this world that's why they always look up to the one thing or person they hope that will save them, God. Only foolish people would believe in something that's utter nonsense because they think that God was created for some people like your sister so they won't have to face reality."
"A different tragedy...? not having to face reality huh?"
I mumbled quietly and Laito looked at me surprised. I stood up from the bench and I looked up at the stars.
"I never told anyone this, but, I've been through hell and back, I lost my family, I lost my home and now, I'm nothing..."
Laito sat there and he listened to me as I continued to tell him what my life was like.
"I used to be a different person before I became this monster, I was happy and my parents loved and cared for me and my little brother Toby admired me, hmpf, it feels like a distant memory now."
I said with a sad smile but, I lost the smile when I remembered that night.
"But, that came crashing down when a fire started in my home, I was the only one who survived the fire and as for my parents and Toby...they didn't make it, they were killed in the flames...I almost froze to death when I wandered lost and alone in the wintery streets if Boss hadn't found me that night, that was when he took me in and he trained me to become a member of the cobras..."
