I walked off the plane and went to the baggage claim. I felt so relieved that my bag was there. The last time I traveled to New York they lost my bag and it ended up in Cuba. I got it back a week later. I sighed.
I walked outside and called a taxi. "Hi, can you take me to this address?" I asked, handing him a piece of paper with Vanoss's address on it.
"Hey, you are an American tourist, eh?" He said.
"Yea." I said, surprised that he talked, the ones in New York barely nodded.
"This is about an hour and a half away." He said.
"Oh, I'm so sorry." I said, not sure what to do.
"It's fine, I'll take you, it will just be about, um.." He said trying to calculate the amount of money I would owe him.
"It's fine, any amount." I said, just happy he would take me.
"Alright, I'm just warning you. It's going to be a long ride, no stoping, and I might tell you my life story." He said, chuckling.
I smiled. Oh, god.
About 2 hours later, I knew this guys life story and paid him for telling me. He was a really friendly guy, he even gave me his number and said he would stay in this town and take me back to the airport. But, he never told me his name. I guess I never asked him.
I looked at Vanoss's huge house, well it looked huge, compared to mine. It was probably normal. I walked up to the door and knocked.
"Coming! One second!" I heard Vanoss yell. I suddenly got nervous. That stupid dream came back to me. "He's so ugly." I know it was just a dream, but it felt so real.
I quickly reached into my suitcase and grabbed my hockey mask. I packed it just in case. I'm so glad I did.
I had just finished strapping it on when Vanoss came to the door. He was wearing shorts, flip flops, an under armor t-shirt, and a pair of badass sunglasses. He just stared at me in my hockey mask and I laughed.
"Are you serious?" He finally said.
"No, I'm Delirious." I said, I laughed my evil laugh.
"My God, you really are." He said then grinned. Ok I deserved that one.
"Your really going to wear that? Do you have clown makeup underneath that mask too?" He said.
"Maybe." I said. He sighed, and I tried hard not to laugh.
"Well, whatever. I've got my phone on me at all times, so don't try to murder me, Delirious." He said then laughed. I'm so glad I had on the mask, because I could feel my face just drop. WHAT?
"Ok?..." I said, kind of wanting to do it now.
"Well, your room is this way." He said gesturing me inside. I grabbed my bag and stepped inside.
His house was big. I looked at the flatscreen tv, it was the biggest I had ever seen. The couch was just as big around it. I looked to the right and there was a huge kitchen area. Right in front of me was a huge staircase. Vanoss was already halfway up.
"You coming?" He asked grinning.
"Uh, yea." I said climbing the first steps, still looking around.
"You live by yourself?" I asked.
"Yep." Wow. Why is this so awkward? Maybe because I brought a hockey mask. I reminded myself.
We walked up the stairs and we entered a guest bedroom with a small tv, dresser, desk, and bed. I threw my bag on the desk and jumped back on the bed.
