"Hey, Iida!" As I was exiting the school ending the first day, I saw Iida walking alone. Running down the hallway to catch up to him, he turned around.
"Hey, Fubuki." He replied rather awkwardly.
"What do you think of Midoriya? I can't figure him out. Or his quirk. It's kind of bothering me." I asked him as we started walking again. Iida placed his hand on his chin.
"He is very interesting indeed. His quirk seems powerful, but the backlash isn't worth it. I wonder how he will make it through U.A. with a quirk like that." He answered, "It's almost like he isn't used to it."
"My thoughts exactly! I thought I was crazy for thinking that! Thanks for your input, Iida." I thanked him. We turned a corner to see the entryway with students hanging out here and there.
"No problem, Fubuki. I actually have a question for you, about your quirk. What is it, exactly? I can't quite figure it out." He questioned gesturing with his hands.
"Oh, honestly, I don't even know specifics myself, really. I can manipulate air and water primarily, but I can also play with temperature. I don't have enough control to do anything really cool or powerful, except mess with the air. I can only change temperature in small rooms, and water is next to impossible for me to do anything with in a fight." I told him.
"It's quite an interesting power. It seems really powerful if you can learn to control it better." He stated. We reached the doorway.
"Well, I'm extremely sensitive to small temperature changes, too. It's a bit of a double-edged sword in some cases. " I told him.
"Ahhh, I see. Hey, isn't that Midoriya ahead?"He switched the topic.
"Hey, Midoriya!" I yelled out to him. Midoriya turned around.
"Oh, um, hey Fubuki, Iida." He answered.
"How is your finger?" Iida asked him. Midoriya held it up.
"A lot better thanks to Recovery Girl!" He answered cheerfully.
"That woman is a life saver. Good thing U.A. has her." I responded. The three of us started walking again.
"I was a bit concerned by Mr. Aizawa's approach to class, but I trust the school's judgment. Even so, lying is downright immoral." Iida said, almost like he blanked out the previous conversation.
"Well, now we know it's not beyond him. He may try to threaten us again with a crazy punishment, but that kind of defeats the purpose. We just have to be on our guard around the guy." I responded. Both guys nodded in response.
"Heeeeey! Wait up you guys! Are you going to the station? I'll join you!" Uraraka yelled out to us.
"Oh, you're the infinity girl." Iida stated.
"I'm Ochako Uraraka." She introduced herself, "Let's see, your name is Tenya Iida, you're Akira Fubuki, and... Deku, right? Midoriya?"
"Deku!?" Midoriya pulled back, his voice turning high pitched.
"Uh, yeah! Isn't that what Bakugou called you?" Uraraka questioned.
"Uh, my name is actually Izuku. Deku is what Kachan calls me to make fun of me." Midoriya explained.
"That's unsportsmanlike." Iida stated.
"That just seems like Bakugou. As far as I can tell, he's just grade A jerk." I responded.
"Sorry, I didn't realize that!" Uraraka responded, "But you know what, I like Deku. It would make a great hero name!"
"It gives a sense of embracing the name instead of refusing it. It kind of shows you're above it." I added.
"Deku it is!" Midoriya turned a bright shade of pink.
"What, did you just turn into a tomato or something?" He got ten times redder.
"Just like that? Weren't you saying it was an insult?" Iida asked confused.
"Paradon shift! My whole world is upside down!" Midoriya muttered.
"Wait, what?" Uraraka tilted her head. We continued down the road until we reached the station. Turns out I live a lot closer to Midoriya than I knew. Our train stops are two apart.
I skipped the rest of the way home, filled with joy.
"I'm home!" I called as I walked into the front door and took off my shoes. Since the door was open, I assumed Kazuki was home. When the twins are home alone, he refuses to let them leave the door unlocked.
"How was U.A.? Did you meet anyone? Did you see All Might? Are there other girls in your class? Aki, tell me!" I was bombarded as Amaya turned the corner and started throwing questions rapid fire.
"Will you let me get out of the doorway first? I'll answer all your questions."
"Okay. I want to know everything!" She backed up and let me put my stuff down. She and Haru are both twelve years old and both of them want to go to U.A. in the future, so it makes sense that she is so curious.
"Where's Haru?" I asked her.
"He's still mad about the whole freezing and paint incident. Kazuki is in the backyard." She answered.
'So, the school?" She snapped right back to what she wanted to know. I walked into the living room and sat on our worn old leather couch. Amaya followed me and sat on the middle cushion which wasn't as sunken as the side cushions.
"We had a quirk assessment test today. Our teacher is Shouta Aizawa." I started.
"Aizawa? The same hero Mom tried to propose to before Dad? What's he like in person?" She asked. Amaya was sitting on her knees and bouncing up and down, shaking the whole couch.
"Scary. And intense. I'm not sure how mom wanted to marry the guy." I answered.
"What about your classmates? How many girls?"
"Six, seven including me. I met these two guys and this bubbly girl who I think you would get along with. Her name is Uraraka."
"Nice. What are the guys like?"
"Well, Iida is really serious about school. He has engines for legs."
"Really? That's so cool! What's Uraraka's quirk?"
"She can make things float when she touches them."
"What's the other guy like?"
"His name is Midoriya. He's the nicest guy in the class. A bit of a pushover. He has a quirk that's almost a twin to All Might's power, but he hurts himself. I haven't seen enough to really judge the real power of his quirk. Good guy, though."
As we were talking, Kazuki and Haru both came in the room to listen to the conversation.
Amaya continued our question and answer game until ten o'clock when I cut it short. She even asked questions during dinner when I was scarfing down food. Haru even asked a question or two, and I answered between swallows.
If only I knew what was in store for the rest of the week. These questions would only multiply every time I came home.
