"OOGAAAAAMMMMMIIIIIIIII!!!!.HOW MANY TIMES HAVE I TOLD YOU TO NOT USE YOUR QUIRK IN THIS ROOM!?" Oogami flinched as the art teacher, Mr. Ikemoto scolded her. A hummingbird colored with ocean blues was slingshoting around the classroom, with a couple of our classmates trying to catch it. Mr. Ikemoto had just walked into the classroom when he was talking to another adult, who was the music teacher Ms. Otonari. A girl with bronze eyes and royal purple curly hair was looking down at the floor. She was wearing a pair of thick black headphones over her ears. I told Oogami I was getting up to see her better and Mr. Ikemoto stopped me.
"Where do you think you're going, Fubuki!? Trying to get out of trouble, ey?" He shouted. I took a deep breath. What did I even do? Oogami was the one that used her quirk, not me who's quirk was nonexistant.
"No, sir. I'm wondering who that girl outside is. Who is she?" I asked. This guy was easy to lose your cool around, so I had to be careful about what I said.
"None of your business. Now sit your quirkless butt down before I do it for you." He held up his giant pointer stick and pretended to swing it like a baseball bat. Most of our classmates snickered. I sat down pouting as Oogami held out her notebook for the hummingbird to slap into, melting back into the page.
"Now," As Mr. Ikemoto began, I zoned off as I saw the poor girl be dragged off by the music teacher. Since we had our art class at the end of the day, as soon as the bell rang I jumped out of my seat, grabbed my stuff and was about to run out of the room before Mr. Ikemoto stopped me. I wanted to find that girl.
"Oogami and Fubuki, stay for one second." The two of us exchanged glances. Oh no. Both of us slug our backpacks off of our shoulders as we waited for Mr. Ikemoto's screaming fit. When all of our classmates were out of the classroom, he began.
"First, Oogami. You're a talented kid, regrettably." He muttered that under his breath but we both heard it," But STOP using your quirk in class. It's frustrating and I hate your little guts for it. Yeah, it's cool and whatever but by law, you're not allowed, so stop." He turned his gaze to me. He wasn't so bad to Oogami for once so, maybe, he wouldn't blow my ears off?
"FUBUKI WHAT THE HELL IS THIS THAT YOU TURNED IN!? THE ASSIGNMENT WAS TO DRAW A BIRD, NOT A MUTANT! YOU CAN DO BETTER THAN THIS I KNOW! PUT MORE EFFORT INTO SCHOOL!" He screamed, holding up my picture of a perfectly fine looking robin sitting on a branch from a sakura tree. I said nothing as arguing would only make it worse. Oogami looked at me sympathetically. We both knew it was one of the better drawings turned in, but for some reason, it wasn't good enough.
"Go. I don't want to see your faces. Especially miss quirkless over here." Both of us ran over to our bags and of course,
"NO RUNNING IN MY CLASSROOM!"
We then proceeded to speedwalk out of the room, then sprint down the straight hallway before the principal got mad at us for still being in the school without any kind of bus pass or something. Since I was faster, I reached the door first as I plowed into it. Oogami was close behind. Our bus was just down the street, and we usually could get there before the driver left, but he knew that Mr. Ikemoto had a few screws lose.
"I see our bus! Ruuuuuun!!!!!" I yelled at her. She didn't answer, but I could hear her panting. Both of us made it on before the bus driver closed the doors. He sighed as he saw us.
"Come on, you two. Is it Ikemoto again?" He asked.
"Yes, sir. Being a butt as usual." I told him as I walked passed. I sat down in my usual seat and saw Oogami slide next to me.
"You... know... I'm not as... much of a... runner." She panted out slowly. She took off her backpack and placed it on the floor.
"Well do you want me to carry you next time?" I questioned. I wasn't even out of breath.
"Maybe..." Was all she said. She actually considered it, which surprized me. I took off my own bag and leaned back in the seat. Something didn't feel right today. I don't know what it was or what, but I was feeling very anxious and worried. That whole bus ride I couldn't relax. Oogami questioned why I was so fidgety.
"I don't know. I feel like something is going to go wrong." Was all I said. She looked at me with her ever-changing eyes. At this point, I figured her eyes changed white through black depending on her mood, which made her really easy to read, while white being happy and upbeat, black being sad or angry, and greys being everything else. I couldn't quite tell today because of how I couldn't focus on her. I had no idea of what would happen that night. Sometimes I wonder if it was better if I knew, but would I have been able to stop it? No clue.
the rest of that bus ride Oogami continued to look at me with concern. When she got off, she asked me to call later that night. I never did.
