A blur of white. The steady beeps lull him back to sleep.

The first color he sees is orange. Everything is colored in warm hues of vibrant oranges and reds. His vision slowly clears and a smooth ceiling greets him. He turns his head to the right to find the sun setting with fierce rays of light and pastel purple clouds sparsely scattered across the sky. The window frame's long black shadows across his bed. The night is coming.

"Doctor!" He hears someone yells. The rest comes to him in a forgotten blur since he didn't bother paying attention. To be frank, he questions if this was really real. Miracles don't happen often enough that he could bet on it.

That night, he managed to escape with a hairbreadth of luck. He was the biggest liability in the plan with his injuries and delirious state of mind. Hawkeyes did little favors and continuously rammed information in him to the point he couldn't articulate a sentence to convey it. If it weren't for Lady's stubbornness, the others would've left him there to die. He must've blacked out at the end and somehow was dropped off at a hospital. Now his question is, how long has he been unconscious?

Someone places their hand on his shoulder to get his attention. Slowly he turns to face them and sees an unfamiliar woman. She explains she is a doctor and inquires about his health. She speaks to him while looking at a clipboard and jotting something down. Not long after she leaves, a fumbling nurse comes in and out. She keeps tripping and dropping equipment, even hooks up the wrong iv bag. Takumi has no idea how she manages to help him get clean or bring him some food. Once she was gone, the sun has already sunk below the horizon.

Takumi hears a knock and calls out to allow them in. He looks to see the door open to reveal his visitors. They quietly walk in and do not say anything when they stand by his bedside. He waits for them a while longer for them to speak. After a long period of silence, he starts to feel awkward. They are forcing him to start up the conversation.

"Hi, Sakura, Kamui, Hinoka, Ryoma." Takumi slowly greets them one by one, each name a little harder to say. He could've said something more but his mind was coming to a blank. Despite his efforts to stop the dreadful silence, they didn't respond back. They only wear frustrated or worried expressions with their silence.

Then the first one to move is Hinoka. She steps forward with a determined glint in her eyes. Takumi can see a fresh, ugly scar developing on her cheek and he watches the way it moves as she speaks, "Who are you?"

He knew this question will come. When he first met them again after so long, they couldn't recognize him. The only reason why they finally believed him was due to Mikoto embracing him so tightly. They instantly took the leap of faith. Now, they are confused. What to believe and if they could bear the weight of what comes with it.

"I am Takumi Hoshido," Takumi firmly replies back. He was full of resolute to accept the doubt and rejection that may arise.

Three girls crowd around him and hug him altogether. He could hear Sakura and Kamui crying. Hinoka squeeze them all tightly and says, "What the hell happened? The hospital suddenly called us and say you were in a coma."

"What?" Takumi couldn't help but become shocked at their actions. Though it quickly disappeared when he remembered the ones here were incredibly good people. How could he forget how strong their loyalty was?

"I'll find the dastards that did this to you and arrest them!" Hinoka separates from the group and points at Takumi. "And I am not taking, 'I didn't see so I don't know' as an answer."

"I think that's enough Hinoka," Ryoma steps in and place a hand on his sister's shoulder to calm her down. "Takumi just woke up from a week-long coma, so take it easy on him."
