Within that night they managed to get through a bunch of films. Some films they watched that they have been meaning to get around to and others were films that they always watched together. They lounged lovingly in each others arms as the soft voices of the people on the TV drowned out the reality of the world they lived in. The soft taps of the rain from outside made patterns on the window. The dog snoozed lightly at the foot of the sofa. Everything in time seemed to stop. The evening seemed to feel infinite to the two lovers that were relaxing in each others arms, the outside world meant nothing in those moments, everything else seemed to fade away. Charlie could feel Sickboy's thumb graze softly over her hand, as her eyes grew heavier and heavier as the moments passed. Her eyes flickered shut here and there, but she refused to left her tiredness take control, so she tried with all her might to keep her eyes open, but failed miserably. It wasn't long after 11 in the evening and Charlies eyes had fully shut and she had taken a ride to dream land.
Soon enough Sickboy could feel a slight weight grow on his shoulder and as he looked down he could see charlie fast asleep with her head on his shoulder. His lips curled up into a genuine smile when he saw her sleep peacefully. He basked in these moments alone with Charlie, while she looked peaceful and happy. It was a rare sight to ever see her at peace, let alone have her guard let down. He didn't want to wake her up and disturb her, so he just let her sleep on his shoulder; he pulled up the blanket further on her to make sure she wouldn't get too cold and turned back to watching the film on the tv.
The time that they had spent together leading up to this moment felt weird, but also comforting to look back on. Neither one of the pair ever thought that they would have ever found someone that they could share these moments with; They would have never had believed that they would've found each other in a night club, let alone make it last longer then a week. The unspoken words that they shared between themselves in the past could've filled a whole book.
It had felt like they had awakened from a dream when they heard a hurried knock at the door. I mean for Charlie she literally was. Her eyes blinked open slowly, thinking she had dreamt it at first, it was only when she heard it again she realised she hadn't dreamt it. Charlie looked up to Sickboy to see him look towards the door with a puzzled expression on his face. He looked down to Charlie and saw her awake, seeing that she too was confused as to why someone was knocking on her door.
'You didn't invite anyone round, did you?' he asked down to her as there came another hurried knock from the door. She shock her head and mumbled a no and shrugged her shoulders, indicating that she didn't know who was behind the door. Just as she was about to get up from the sofa, she felt a hand on her arm indicating her to stay seated. She was confused but Sickboy soon put her mind at ease.
'Nah you stay there, I'll get ride of them' Sickboy casually said whilst moving from under Charlie and jumped up from the sofa to get to the door. The time in between Sickboy getting up from the sofa and him answering the door, Charlie was trying to figure out who could have been at the door. It wasn't like they were making a copious amount of noise, so it couldn't of been the neighbors. Apart from Renton, no one else knew where she had lived. When she moved back up to Scotland she never let her parents or any family members know where she was living and no one at work could even be arsed to ask where abouts she lived. It was only once the door had been opened up did she see who it was. A women with long brunette hair, pale almost sickly looking skin, a big baggy black jumper and tight jogging bottoms that made her look like she had just rolled out of bed. It was her sister. Alison. What the fuck was she doing there? And how the fuck did she find out she lived?
'What on earth are you doing here?' Sickboy said all of a sudden as Charlie had ducked behind the safety of the sofa. How did Sickboy know her sister?
'We were all waiting for you at Swanny's, come on' Alison stated whilst going to grab his arm to drag him away; but Sickboy pulled away before she could grab his arm. The women looked up to him confused as to why he was so willing to miss out on a night at Swanny's.
'Nah I'm not coming tonight, I was gonna just spend the evening with Charlie' Sickboy casually mentioned whilst motioning behind him in the general direction of Charlie. Alison looked past him only to see a tufted of hair poking out from behind the sofa, as she knitted her eyebrows together looking back at Sickboy confused as to why he stayed here with the mysterious person rather then hanging out with his friends. soon enough though her question was answered as the tufted of hair begun to move and a head popped up out from under the safety of the sofa. A face that Alison hadn't seen in years. Her sister.
'Charlotte?' Alison whispered whilst pushing past Sickboy to get a better look at her sister. Sickboy looked between the two of them confused as to what was going on and how the two knew each other.
'You two know each other?' Sickboy asked confused as anything as he shut the door behind him and walked back to where he was sitting not to long ago.
'She's my sister' they both said in unison as Charlie looked over to him with a sorry smile. Sickboy was instantly hit with confusion, worry and guilt for some odd reason. Charlie had never mentioned her family before today to him and because of that he thought that they weren't a close family. She never mentioned having a sister before, so it came as a bit of a shock to him. Before she mentioned her family earlier on that day, he had thought they had died or something and because of that he didn't want to bring up families and everything, because he didn't want to bring up bad memories for her. He had felt guilty because Charlie had just came face to face with her sister and she looked rather upset; if it wasn't for him she wouldn't have to deal with this situation right now. He almost felt responsible for this impromptu reunion between the two sisters.
'Charlotte, when did you get back?' Alison questioned her whilst running up to her to engulfing her in a hug. Charlotte wasn't much of a hugger, but she allowed her sister to wrap her arms around her whilst she stayed silent and rigged. Charlie didn't know what to say in that moment. Did she tell her sister the truth? Or did she just tell her to get out? when they pulled apart, Charlie looked into her eyes and knew she couldn't lie to her only sister. The sister that she pretty much just walked out on.
'I've been back for a while now' Charlie muttered to her whilst motioning for her to sit down, whilst she herself plopped down on her seat next to Sickboy.
'Do mum and dad know? cause they never said anything to me - I'm sure they'd love to see you again!' Alison smiled, not knowing what on earth had happened to her sister and happy to finally have her back. Charlie smiled up to her younger sister, she had found herself for the second time that evening, not knowing what to say.
'It's complicated' Charlie began to say to her sister, whilst she looked down to her hands expecting to find comfort there again. Without a second thought Sickboy grabbed Charlies hand, trying to comfort her, not knowing what else to do for her. Charlie looked up to Sickboy smiling thankfully towards him. Before anything else was said between the sisters, Sickboy stood up and spoke up.
'I'm going to go, and give you guys some space to talk' He sighed whilst looking towards Charlie and she also got up and walked him silently towards the door. She opened the door up and whispered a thank you whilst he walked past her. As he got outside he looked back to her and moved in to give her a hug before he left.
'If you need anything or if anything happens, just call me' Sickboy whispered into her ear as they hugged and he kissed her forehead.
'Thank you' Charlie had whispered back, knowing that once everything had finished he would be the first one she would call. He looked back to Alison and smiled to her whilst he made his way down the corridor towards the stairs. Charlie had closed the door and took a moment to think about what she was going to say, but she didn't see the smile that graced Alison's lips as she saw the interaction between her sister and Sickboy.
Charlie slowly turned around to her sister and sat back down, looking her sister in the eye, not knowing where to begin. Here goes nothing she thought as she was wondering on what on earth to say to her sister that she hadn't seen in years. She was shitting herself and didn't know what her sister would think when she told her the truth on what happened to her and what actually went down between her and there parents.
