'I can't believe you asked that!' Charlie laughed as she waltzed into the flat after the appointment. Sickboy shuffled in after her with a confused expression on his face.
'What? It was an honest question!' Sickboy expressed, falling on the sofa, not knowing what Charlie found so funny.
'No a honest question is: what's healthy for the baby or something like that! Not "so sex is still okay right?' Charlie couldn't help laughing remembering the look on the doctors face once Sickboy had asked this question. The appointment had gone well, maybe even better then Charlie had thought; the doctor done the usually checks, checked her blood pressure, checked her weight and height and the took a cold stethoscope and placed it over Charlie's heart. Everything seemed to be fine with Charlie's health. It was only when they brought out a big, technical machine that Charlie started to worry about what they would find. What if there was something wrong with the baby? It was no secret that Sickboy took a liking to all kinds of drugs and obviously Charlie had done them in the past, so what if that effected the baby? Without realising she had taken the doctors orders to get up and lie down on the table, and lifted her top to reveal her slight ballooned stomach. The cold gel was put on her stomach and the doctor started pressing the wand looking part of the machine to her stomach. She looked over to Sickboy who took a seat next to the table, and grabbed her hand out of habit. Looking at his face, she saw his expression change; his eyes grew soft and his mouth gasped open slightly in shock of what he saw. Charlie slowly but surely started looking round to the screen to see what had Sickboy so shocked. On the screen there was a shadow of a little foetus. You could see there little arms and legs and head. The doctor let them hear the baby's heart beat and with that tears started coming to Charlie's eyes. The heart beat sounded fast, but it served as a indication that there was a little mini human inside there. She felt Sickboy hand tighten around hers and when she looked over, she could see his pool with tears. Soon enough the doctor told them that she was about 4 and a half months and then went on to ask if we wanted to know the sex of the baby. Charlie looked over to Sickboy once again as they both agreed that they wanted to keep it a secret for when the baby came. Charlie was handed a towel to clean up the gel from her stomach and was given the all clear to go home and rest. It was only when they were walking out the door that Sickboy asked his question.
'Well we don't wanna hurt the baby' Sickboy honestly said from his place on the sofa, bringing Charlie round to reality. She looked round to see a cheeky smile gracing his face.
'Yeh, but you didn't need to ask her it, I'm sure we would've found out somehow' Charlie giggle as she found her place next to Sickboy.
'It's done know anyways...' he paused looking over to her.
'How do you feel?' He proceeded to ask once bring her into his side.
'I'm fine' she said, earning a raised eyebrow from Sickboy, telling her silently that he didn't believe her.
'It just feels weird now, just like we've heard there heart! And in about five months we're gonna have a living and breathing child in front of us' she honestly said. Sickboy gave a little chuckle, knowing that she was going to be a little funny after the appointment.
'Well yeah, but we'll have our little girl with us, being all funny and cute' he reassured her squeezing her lightly. Charlie huffed looking up to Sickboy.
'You still think it's a girl then?' She asked him, unamused.
'I know it's a girl, trust me' Sickboy said as he grew a cocky grin on his face.
'But what if it's a boy?' Charlie asked, trying to knock him off of his high horse.
'Don't worry, it's a girl' he ignored her attempts. Charlie looked up to see his eyes already gazing down at her.
'Fine, but if it is a girl, I wanna call he Dawn.' Charlie told him.
'Dawn, why Dawn?' Sickboy asked confused, knitting his eyebrows together.
'Cause! It sounds cool' She replied raising her shoulders not actually giving too much thought into why she chose the name.
'Cause it's cool?' Sickboy looked down at her.
'Well Yeah... you don't really hear many kids called Dawn do you?' She questioned him meeting his gaze.
'Good point...' he said taking a moment to think.
'Fine, if it's a girl it'll be called Dawn... but if it's a boy it'll be called Daniel' he reasoned with her.
'Oh so your not so certain now are you?' Charlie teased.
'No, I'm still certain it's a girl, but I'm not gonna leave it up to chance - if it's a boy you could name him something weird if we don't plan it before hand.' He tried to retreat and back up his early statement. Charlie slapped his arm lightly.
'I would not name our child something weird!' She giggled.
'Says the person who just decide to call our baby girl Dawn!' He playfully rubbed his arm where she had just slapped him.
'That's rich coming from someone nicknamed Sickboy' she retorted.
'Ouch! That was a low blow' Sickboy put his hand over his heart, pretending to be hurt. It felt nice being able to laugh again; for what felt like forever Charlie couldn't laugh like this with anyone, yet this one blonde boy turns up and pulls her out of the hole that she found herself in. They were good for each and helped each other become better people. They both wouldn't admit it, because they didn't want to seem sappy or weak, but they really did help each become better. And as they sat there, in each other's arms everything was finally at peace. It wasn't what they planned, but it was what they had grown to love.
'So little baby Dawn...' Sickboy said almost in question that that's what they were going to call her.
'Yeh, little baby Dawn.'
