Life resumed in the weeks that came for the trio. Things went as planned as Alison carried on with Charlie's jobs, and moved in with her sister. Sickboy wasn't too pleased that Charlie would prefer the company of her sister to him, but as Charlie kept reminding him, he was near enough always there anyways and that way she felt she could repay Alison somehow for taking over her job for the time being. So with her sister moved in, life carried on as normal as possible.
'What I'm saying is, why haven't you gone to the doctors yet?' Sickboy questioned Charlie as she turned round to meet his gaze. Since finding out Charlie had just taken a little better care of herself (as Sickboy insisted that she do so) but she refused to go to any doctors. She felt like she didn't need to.
'Cause, I don't need to - loads of women do it' a Charlie stated, as she pulled herself up to a sitting position on the bed. Her stomach had grown a little more over the past couple weeks, they both didn't know how far along she was, but she hadn't cared. Sickboy however did.
'Yeh they used to, but we don't even know how long we gotta wait to we meet her' Sickboy replied, bringing his hand down to rest protectively on her stomach. She laughed lightly hearing him say this.
'How do you know it's going to be a girl?' She smirked raising her eyebrow slightly raised.
'Call it a fathers intuition' he said proudly smirking back at her.
'But that's not the point, you need to see a doctor' he told her, bringing back the conversation at hand.
'Your not gonna stop, are you?' She asked him, defeat in her eyes.
'Nope. Even if I have to drag you there myself.' Sickboy smiled up to her as he remained on his back on the bed.
'Fine, I'll think about it' Charlie defeatedly said to him, only to see a almost puppy dog look on his face.
'Don't give me that look, I said I'll think about it!' She replied knowing what that look meant. She didn't want to give in, but there was something about him that couldn't let her say no. Maybe it was the hormones or the fact that he had been babying her recently, but she had gotten the habit of saying yes to whatever he said. Hence why she had started looking after herself more.
'Fine. I'll go to the doctors' she finally said, after a long pause.
'Good, I've arranged a appointment for you later on then' Sickboy said picking up the paper to the side of him, being blind to Charlie's shocked expression.
'Wait, is that why you've been on my case all week? Cause you already booked me a appointment?' She huffed, not expecting any less from him.
'Well yeh, I knew you would give in eventually' he proudly smiled, not taking his eyes off of the paper. Charlie didn't expect any less, but she was still shocked. The sneaky bastard hadn't given her a choice, yet silently she was thankful. It meant that she could get it out the way and over with, without having to build up of nerves of any sorts.
'What time is it then?' She asked, wanting to know when she had to get ready for.
'At 1, so we still got some time' Sickboy replied, looking down to his watch.
'Well then, I'll be going for a shower and getting myself ready' she said as she heaved herself up off of the bed. She had to admit that since her stomach was getting bigger, it was difficult to move as easily as she used to.
'Great idea!' Sickboy exclaimed, starting to move himself up from the bed.
'No, you stay there other wise it'll take twice as long' She through over her shoulder, looking back to see a disappointed look on his face.
'Oh come on, I could make it fun' he smirked moving closer to her, touching her waist.
' you could, but it was you making things fun that got us in this position in the first place' she giggled, pushing him back on the bed, mustering up the strength to pull herself to her feet. Sickboy gave up giving a big sigh as Charlie started walking towards the bathroom.
'Fine, but if you need me, just call' he smirked, following her with his eyes.
'Oh don't worry, I'll be fine' she walked out of the door, hearing a groan come from Sickboy, earning her a grin. Walking into the bathroom, she turned on the shower, got towels out and stripped down. Looking at herself in the mirror, her hands found themselves on her stomach, gently caressing it, knowing that only in a few months she'll be a lot bigger then this. Giving a little sigh, she moved herself into the shower, giving a once over, trying to be quick, knowing that Sickboy wouldn't be long behind her if she didn't get out before he had the chance to follow her in. Soon enough she hopped out of the shower, wrapping herself in a towel, opening up the bathroom door to find Sickboy behind it, looking disappointed.
'You were quick' he mumbled, turning back around.
'Had to be, didn't want any intruders coming in' she smirked as she walked past him to the bedroom once more. Sickboy swivelled round, following her like a sheep. Soon enough, Charlie had gotten dressed, had breakfast and had gotten ready for the doctors appointment. Half an hour till the appointment, they had both left the flat, and made there way to the doctors.
Once there, they walked in and booked themselves in. They both sat down in the waiting room. It was now that the nerves came to Charlie. She looked around, seeing two other people there; one of which was a elderly women and the other a young man. Without knowing, her leg started to move up and down as her nerves got the better of her. She looked over to Sickboy who looked widely out of place. She didn't know what to expect from this visit, she didn't know what she wanted to hear from the doctor either. Looking down to her feet, she felt a hand on her leg and felt Sickboy squeeze her thigh reassuringly. She looked up to see Sickboy smiling back at her; she went to go say something but she interrupted, when a women dressed in white walked in through the door.
'Charlie?' She asked looking around, her eyes landing on Charlie. She looked up to the women, smiled and got herself up off of the chair and started walking towards the women that held open the door for her. Sickboy was hot on there tails, walking after them both as they walked through the door, toward the doctors room. Charlie sighed once more before sitting down in the patients chair in the office, looking to Sickboy for reassurance once more as the doctor took her place opposite the pair. This was it; there was no backing out now.
