I didn't think I'd write another long one, lol. I'm not getting a lot of read nor stars in any of the recent one shots as the first few, which is why I'm not updating this as much. But I do have about 13 others, and counting (probably), under the works. So enjoy.

Excalibur x Reader x Rhino: Bless Our Souls Pt. 1

Gender: Female

(Y/N)

"Excalibur, come on! Don't be so cruel!"

"That thing's hideous!"

"But he's friendly!"

"That Kavat can kill us in our sleep."

"(Y/N), what're you doing?"

"Training. It's what you wanted out of us."

"When we land, not on the ship."

"Hey, for all we know, Delvin can end up being your wingman on your nights out."

"Rhino's already my wingman!"

"Well, you can have another."

"Hmph... At least I know he works."

"What the hell does that mean?!"

My eyes opened, fluttering from the white light that is the sun. I groaned, rubbing my eyes to get a better look at my surroundings. There was nothing but green scenery. No Grineer came by, and if they did anytime last night, they didn't spot us. Delvin, who slept beside me, purred as I gently stroked him. His slightly faded yellow fur shone under the sunlight. The green patches of his fur moved with the slight breeze that went through the Earth's tunnels. "Come on, Del. Let's go find something to eat," I told him quietly. He pinched his eyes several times and stretched as he yawned. Stealthily, we made our way to a river that was left unguarded. I fished out several fishes for us both. This was a new one for us, so the amount we took was a bit unexpected. This one river also had an ungodly amount of scrap. "This might be our chance. We can go back home if we get someone through."

Once we finished eating our cooked meal, I took out what I had for a transmitter. The transmitter I had with me wasn't huge, but it wasn't small either. It was rather expandable, though the 'original' size was about the same size as a house radio from way back when. When this one was in perfect shape in the ship, holograms came in with perfect imaging, even with calls. Now, though, it had trouble. At least, when it works. I looked around for any parts it needed, like screw bolts and metal for it's shell. As Delvin waited for me, he placed the tip of his nose in the water. One of the fishes ended up scaring him. "That's what happens when you put your nose in where it doesn't belong," I laughed. Delvin hisses and began to slap the water, attempting to get the fish that scared him. I only laughed. I wasn't sure how long the transmitter took me to fix, but when I finished, Delvin was hungry again.

"Oh, alright. I'm done anyway."

Patiently, we waited. We waited for about half an hour for a few large fishes to pop up. Delvin was all too happy. I didn't blame him. Larger fish took some time to reproduce unlike their smaller counterparts. Once we were done, I began the work I've been waiting for on the transmitter. I turned it on and allowed it to process a call to any nearby space vessel. I waited patiently as Delvin watched by the river, pacing back and forth as the call still processed. "I hope we get someone helpful," I told Delvin, "If we get an Operator, even better." Eventually a call came through. It was a young woman, a beautiful one. She looked to be at the age when I met Excalibur.
