Agmaer x Reader: Well-Trained Pt 1

Gender: Neutral

(Y/N)'S POV

I guided Agmaer's hands, leading them to the target. "Try to keep your hands steady," I ordered, "and concentrate." I let go his crossbow and allowed him to shoot his arrow. He almost hit the center. "Good." A small smirk showed on Agmaer's face. I saw he was proud of his improvement since his recruitment. Within moments, a courier came running in. He came in panting, close to collapsing. "I *gasp* have a letter for the Dawnguard." He took out a folded up letter and handed it to me. I opened it and read. Shock overwhelmed me as I read.

Isran, the other Dawnguard members, and I made our way to Winterhold on our horses. When we arrived, the streets were empty, yet blood seemed to occupy them. "Search the perimeter," Isran ordered, "find anyone who might still be alive." I hopped off my horse and searched the area. As I searched I didn't seem to find anyone or anything. Some of the buildings were already destroyed and others were burning. There was no need to search them. Burnt corpses of family occupied a few destroyed homes. One of them had a corpse of a mother with her baby in her arms. There goes a life taken WAY to early. Reaching an edge of the town, I heard footsteps rushing through the snow and gentle crying. I looked over my shoulder. Agmaer was rushing to a crying child, a girl in a red and tan colored dress with blue sleeves. He was attempting to help the girl.

"Hey, it's alright. You're safe now."

I came up to them. The child was looking up at Agmaer, then turned to me only to look back at him. I had sworn her eyes were not natural. Something was off. They were almost blood-shot red, and I know it wasn't from the crying. I placed my hand on Agmaer's shoulder, tapping my temple as soon as he turned to me and let him know something was wrong about her. He looked back at the child and got back from her. So did I. I took out my crossbow for any case of incident. And I was right about something being off.

The girl launched herself to him. My only thought was to shoot her, which I did do. It didn't get her off, only weakened her. She pushed him to the ground while attacking him. I took out my steel war axe. I waited for the best chance to swing at her. Once she gave me a chance, I swung my axe. I hit her with a critical strike on her facial area, instantly killing her. I decapitated her for further safety measures. I immediately ran to Agmaer after I tossed the head and body off the ledge. Agmaer laid on the snow that was now covered with his blood. He tried to cover his face with the snow, not showing his pain-filled face as he held onto his neck.

"Agmaer, come on. Get up," I ordered calmly, gently pulling him up. Agmaer did as told but still prevented me from seeing his face. I knew all to well why he didn't want me to see. "I'm taking you back to the fort." Before departing, I had told Isran what happened. He didn't seem all to surprised with the situation but told me to immediately treat the wounds once at the fort.

We arrived at Fort Dawnguard and Agmaer was as pale as a fresh corpse. On our two day trip back, Agmaer's hand dropped weakly, allowing me to see what he was covering. What he was hiding were bite marks. If only he had showed me before. Once I got him laid down on a medical bed with his armor off, I ran to the nearest cupboard and grabbed a cure disease potion. Luckily Agmaer was barely awake and hasn't turned just yet, I hoped. I gently lifted his head up and allowed him to drink. "Rest for now..." I took a quick glance at his body.
It was covered by minor cuts and bruises. "I'll be back... You need bandages."

After I found the bandages and wrapped Agmaer in them, I was close to leaving him. I was until he grabbed me by the hand. "Please..... stay with me?" In all honesty, the voices in my head told me to leave, but my heart objected. I wanted to stay and so I did. I sat next to the bed he laid on and held his hand until we both fell asleep.
