"Alright, nerds. Move your geeky asses! We have to be there in ten minutes to meet Mrs. Byers!" Blake yelled from the open car window as she pulled up besides the Wheeler residence.
Dustin and Lucas, who were laughing in the driveway, snapped their heads to the side only to see the girl impatiently waiting for them with a scowl on her face. They hurriedly made their way to the back seat, greeting the brown haired girl with a smile.
After a few minutes of Blake tapping her foot on the plastic mat, she groaned loudly, honking the horn twice signaling to Mike she was here.
Michael, upon hearing the horn after taking the money out of his sisters bank, ran downstairs with Nancy right on his trail, fighting as they went through the house. Within five seconds of running out the door Mike was already in Blake's car, yelling for her to go.
The girl questioningly raised a brow as her friend ran out of the house, calling for her brother as Mike pleaded with a look. Rolling her eyes, she switched gears and tore down the road, Nancy cursing at them from behind.
"Wheeler, what did you do now?"
"Nothing! She's just being Nancy," He grumbled shrinking down in his seat as Blake snorted.
Dustin and Lucas, who were now laughing at the noise she made, thanked her for driving instead of them having to bike all the way there.
"Yeah, yeah. You're lucky I slightly care about you brats. I'm supposed to be studying for my Pre-Calc test tomorrow," She smirked as the boys behind her started telling her how she'll ace it anyway because she was too smart for Hawkins High School.
Waving them off, she turned to see Mike smiling at her slightly, but she knew it wasn't genuine.
In fact, his smile hadn't been genuine for almost a year now since Eleven disappeared. Nobody would have ever suspected that the telekinetic girl was sitting on Blake's bed sneaking one of her secret stashed KitKat's that were behind the headboard.
Blake turned back to the road as the boys started a new conversation about what video games were going to be played tonight. Occasionally, Blake added her usual sarcastic comment, but for the most part she was thinking.
Thinking about the feeling of wrongness in the pit of her stomach.
Something was coming- Will's episodes were getting worse and more frequent, Hopper and Eleven were constantly at each others necks and Mike was still spiraling down a hole of depression caused by not seeing the girl.
Needless to say that the one year mark that was coming up had everyone on high alert.
Arriving at the Palace Arcade, they all jumped out of the car just as Mrs. Byers pulled up with Will. The said boy got out running to his friends as Blake went over to the woman's car, peeking her head in the open window.
"Don't worry Mrs. Byers, I'll watch him and drive him home," She told after seeing the look on her face. Joyce smiled, saying, "Thanks, Blake. You're the best."
"I know," Blake smirked as the older woman laughed, "Oh, and tell Jonathan that I'd like some Oreos and one of his jackets tomorrow before school."
"Okay, I'll tell him. I'll see you when you drop him off?" Joyce questioned and Blake nodded her head, ducking out of the way before Mrs. Byers sped off, a trail of dirt following her.
The four boys, who were now looking at the girl, jumped on their feet as she turned around with a wild look on her face as she said, "Let's play."
