Some dude was trying to sell me a mustang today... I get that sometimes. I get taken for a rich kid.
Like once I sat in a Nissan GTR, hehe. Very, very nice. A proper driver's car. Should've taken it for a test drive really.
Anyhow, this mustang. It was an old sixties one, with the six cylinder engine known as the secretary six, because it was popular with secretaries. Yeah, not a V8... And it still only manages 20mpg.
What's wrong with the secretary six though? It's still a mustang, and you gotta love that. What's wrong with it, is that it's not the economical engine it was in the sixties. yknow, by '60s standards.
An Eco-stang is a great concept though... why isn't there a proper economy version of the modern stang?
It could have fibreglass panels and a little four pot engine... or a straight six for old times sake... Maybe a flat floor.
I would tell ford about this idea, but they wouldn't be interested.
I love 'em, but every car they make is just half-assed in engineering terms
