Erza studied the ring wondrously, admiring the way it fit perfectly on her finger. "What magic does this ring possess?"
Jellal found the question rather intriguing. "A magic from love, or so that's what I'm told."
Romeo clasped his hands nervously as he made his way to his father. "Hey Dad, someone from the Magic Council is here. Said they got a warrant to arrest Jellal."
"Arrest Jellal?" Macao asked with an eyebrow raised. He relinquished his hold on his coffee mug, standing from his seat and approaching the amphibian standing at the front of the guildhall, alone.
Macao was not sure if that was supposed to be telling of the guild's reputation. That they were harmless flies taking up space in Magnolia.
"You serve as the current master?" the amphibian asked. A female.
"Yes, Macao Conbolt."
"Well, Sir Macao, the Magic Council has news for you." She handed him a letter with the Magic Council's seal. "We have taken Makarov Dreyar into custody. He is acting as a witness in the Infinity Clock incident. However, we will not release him until Jellal Fernandes turns himself in."
"What crimes did he commit?" Romeo inquired, peeking from behind Macao and challenging the amphibian.
"Romeo," Macao warned.
"They're all stated in the letter. We got permission to detain Makarov until Jellal turns himself in. Seeing that you all refuse to hand him over, Fairy Tail has forced the Magic Council's hand."
"Jellal hasn't returned to the guildhall." Macao informed. "You can search the premises. We aren't hiding him. In fact, he's been in another country as far as we're concerned."
"I am sorry, but unless Jellal is handed over to the Magic Council, we cannot do anything about it. They are expecting him in the Fiore branch." She croaked, taking off after coming all the way just to give a letter.
Wakaba shrugged, pipe in mouth as he leaned back in his chair. "Well, we need Jellal to come back."
Macao carefully unfolded the letter, his eyes scanning the contents. "Destruction of Etherion, abduction of a child, and conspiracy with prisoner Jose Porla. These sound like false accusations."
Lucy nervously shook her head. "No, Jellal did destroy Etherion back at Tenrou Island. Abduction of a child is likely referring to Eugene since they adopted him without the government's knowledge, and as for Jose..."
Gray glanced at Lucy. "Didn't Jellal say something to Erza about him? How they were trying to out the old chairman?"
"That's right, back when we performed in that play."
Mirajane sighed, "He's going to be imprisoned for good if they get their hands on them."
"I say we storm into the Magic Council and save Gramps!" Natsu hollered, followed by cheering from the rest of the guild, save for the sane few.
Lucy put a hand to her forehead. "Natsu, we can't do that! They'll land us all in jail."
"You think they're stronger than the Seis, Luce? I single-handedly defeated them!"
Gajeel snorted, "You wish! It took the entire guild to destroy that stupid clock. We don't have Gramps, Laxus, or Gildarts with us!"
"Who needs the geezers? Let's wait till Jellal gets back and fight them. Better yet, let's go now!"
"No!" Lucy and Gray retorted.
Evergreen coughed expectantly, nudging at Freed to reveal a piece of news.
