Sometimes Paris thinks that he's awake when he's asleep, and he is asleep when he's awake. The dreams he has just feel too real to not be reality. What happens in them are things he thinks he deserves, but the people who are victimized in them aren't to blame for the fate they're given. The Devil towers over him as he sleeps, he's sure of it. He twists his unconscious mind and turns his dreamland into Hell, a place where he has no control over what happens, where he can lose anything and everything and have no choice but to watch it happen.
Oh, and the Devil is merciless and unforgiving, he knows how to get under Paris's skin and flow through his veins.
He knows that for his family, Paris would nail a thousand screws into his own skin, bleach his eyes until they melt, sew his mouth shut forever, get on his knees and beg for eternity. The Devil knows this well, and takes advantage of it every night.
Paris's soul weeps for the Devil to go easy on him, but on the outside, he keeps the fury and suffer in. He knows he gets only what he deserves. He is a sinner, and a sinner is worthy of no kindness.
