"See you on Friday," Blake said as he pulled into my driveway. He gently placed his fingers on the top of my hand as he fully stopped the car. "I'm excited to see where this goes."

"Me too," I replied. "See you soon." I started to get out of the car.

"Oh wait, good luck on your test tomorrow. Remember everything we talked about okay? You got this," he encouraged.

"Thanks, Blake," I appreciated. I closed the door and made my way into the house. My mom was making dinner.

"Hi, Sweetie," my mom greeted, as she seasoning the chicken we were having for dinner.

"Hi, Mom," I replied, giving her a half hug.

"How were school, practice, and tutoring?" she asked.

"Good actually. I actually feel good about my math test tomorrow and my coach told me I may have a good shot at a basketball scholarship if I can get my grades up a little," I told her.

"Aw, Honey, that's great!" she exclaimed.

"I'm going to go upstairs and get started on my homework," I told her, grabbing a bottle of water from the fridge.

"Okay, do you have a lot? Anything you will need my help with?" she asked.

"Actually the load isn't too bad, just finishing up a little math studying and I have to check my English test grade in the online grade book and write a reflection on what I think I did wrong," I explained. "No science, so I won't need your help. But, thanks."

"Of course. Dinner's in 30 minutes okay? Colton and Austin are upstairs if you need help with anything too, and even though there isn't science, I can help too," she reminded.

"Thanks, Mom. I'll let you know," I accepted and went upstairs. I took out my computer and opened up the online grade book. I was petrified to look at my grade, most of the time it disappointed me. The highest I had gotten all year was 72%. My goal for this one had been a 78%, but I did not know what to expect. I clicked on my English class, which was at a C+ last time. Homework grades always brought my grade up. It was now at a B-. Oh my god, I may not have done terribly. I looked at the grade and read it. 82%. An 82? Oh my god, I was so happy and I screamed. Colton and Austin raced into the room.

"Eva are you okay?" Colton asked as Austin came right over to me. I heard my mom scrambling up the stairs.

"Honey, what's going on?" my mom gasped, hurrying into my room. My hand was over my mouth.

"I got an 82 on my last English test!" I exclaimed and the three of them went nuts.

"Oh my gosh, E, I'm so proud of you," Austin congratulated, hugging me.

"This is great, you deserved this," Colton exclaimed.

"So proud of you, Honey," my mom added.

"I'm so happy," I gushed.

"What's your final grade now?" Colton asked me.

"It went up from a C+ to a B-," I told him.

"That's so awesome," he replied and I smiled.

"Wait until you tell your Dad. He's going to be so happy for you," my mom said.

"I know, don't tell him though. I want to," I reminded.

"Of course," my mom promised.

"We should let you study, but we can talk more at dinner," Austin popped in.

"Thanks," I replied, sitting in my desk.

"So proud of you," my mom pepped and I smiled.

"Good job, Eva," Colton said and they left the room. I couldn't stop smiling, but I started to work on my reflection. I knew would I need Colton to edit it later, but I was confident in what I had to write.
