I started to get dressed for the party. My dad had confirmed with my mom that I could go. My punishment was that I had to do laundry tomorrow for not only myself but Colton and Austin too. Nothing too bad I guess.

I started getting ready for the party tonight. I walked into the bathroom and pulled out my flat iron and began to straighten my long locks of light brown hair, which was almost identical to my dad's hair. There was a faint knock at the door.

"I'm doing my hair," I called, but the door opened anyway.

"Hey, E, you and Lacey still need a ride to Emma's tonight?" Colton asked me.

"Yeah, thanks," I replied.

"Yeah, no problem," he said back.  He started to leave but then stopped himself.

"I forgot to ask you, how did the conference go?" Colton questioned. I noticed Austin walk by, but he stopped and came into the bathroom.

"Yeah, how did it go?" Austin added.

"Let's just have a party in the bathroom," I teased and we all laughed. Colton sat on the toilet seat and Austin sat on the edge of the tub.

"Okay, spill," Austin instructed.

"She gave me detention for Monday morning, which I guess I understand. But, she's also forcing me to get a tutor," I explained.

"Didn't you and Dad try to explain to her that tutors don't work for you?" Austin asked. He sounded frustrated.

"Well, she got me a tutor who may be a little more relatable. He plays basketball," I told them.

"Who?" they both asked at the exact same time.

"Blake Heffner," I told them. The two of them looked at each other nervously. "Do you guys know him?"

"Just be careful, okay, E? He can be a little sketchy," Austin said.

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"He tends to take advantage of girls. He doesn't really respect them" Colton explained.

"He's just tutoring me, no need to worry," I said, straightening the last piece of my hair.

"I'm surprised he was willing to tutor someone," Austin said.

"Unless he knew it was her," Colton said under his breath.

"What do you mean by that?" I asked Colton, frustrated.

"Well, you're a pretty girl, Eva. I wouldn't be surprised if that was part of why he was tutoring you," Colton admitted.

"Oh shut up, now you're being crazy. I doubt he even knows it's me," I snapped.

"Eva, I just don't want you to get hurt okay?" Colton tried to assure me.

"I won't. I'm almost fifteen, I can handle myself," I sassed. I pushed past Colton and stormed into my bedroom. The idiot. I know he cared about me, but he was just so overprotective at times. I wished Colton was more like Austin sometimes. Austin trusted me and my choices. I started going through my closet, looking for something to wear. I finally decided on something, a black, long sleeve mesh crop top with a cropped black v-neck tank top underneath. I also threw on some ripped jean shorts with it. I knew the outfit would make Colton angry because it was a bit more on the scandalous side. I kept my makeup natural, only some concealer over my blemishes, mascara, and tinted lip balm. I heard a faint knock at the door.

"Go away, Colton," I said. The door opened anyway. "I said go away!" But then I turned around to see Austin.

"Sorry, I didn't know it was you," I apologized.
